I did a similar bunk after Burnley. Was on a train to Marylebone within a minute of leaving the ground. It's the only way to go after such a miserable defeat.

Bizarrely I found myself sat opposite a Burnley fan and his lad who looked miserable as sin. Told him he should be happy, but I expect he was a bit nervous about being around so many morose Blades. He probably burst into fits of laughter when he got off the train….

I know I sound like some old fart but reason I mention this is for those younger readers. I hope one day you'll have a week visiting Stamford Bridge seeing Scougall take the piss out of Chelsea, come away with a victory and then a few days later see the Blades thrash Arsenal and Scougall sits on the ball making out it's all too easy.

He is not usually like that! His celebrations after scoring a goal is usually more modest! He usually turns round strolling back to the centre and might raise a hand in the air with a straight face while his excitable team mates run up to him to congratulate him!

But they do turn up , they pay their money and leave when It suits them , whats the problem ? Better than turning up bladdered and moving someone out of "your seat" at 3.15 in an empty kop as happened to me last season

know what you mean whitehawk,i sit in the john st stand and week after week there is about blokes who regulary turn up at 3.15 ish, i dont get that either

I went to this game on my own. Even dafter then than now, I wore a United scarf. Outside the ground before the kick-off, a HUGE Chelsea skinhead approached me. 'Going to the match, son?' Realising that resistance was futile, I told him I was. He reached inside his sheepskin coat. A bottle? A knife? Nope. He gave me a seat ticket!

It was an example of the many reasons people may have for leaving early. How about those who don't want to leave early sit there while those who do leave?

I have to say if this gets your panties in a wad then you perhaps have bigger issues. Or you are 12.

Do you think that support from a crowd has a positive influence on the team? If you don't, then enough said, we simply disagree. If you do think it has a positive effect, then I think it's pretty obvious that a ground emptying out with 10 minutes to go really isn't a positive influence on the team.

Your point that people pay their money and make their choices is valid. Just like those who are intent on booing. But it looks poor and is detrimental (how much is debatable) to team performance - on top of seeming a bit senseless to miss the crucial stage of the match.
