Blade_In_Sydney is that you changing your predictions to the same as BSBSP? Sorry, it won't let me quote or reply to you directly, for some reason
Sorry, it was early in the morning here and I stuffed up. I didn't mean or intend to change my predictions. Please leave as before and apologies for my incompetence.

Last bump and reminder. Poll and game-by-game prediction entries close just before kick-off tonight. UTB

Predictions to date (70):

Bumping this as we get close to the Cov game.

The aggregate forum prediction for the Cov game is a Draw, based on a 1.58 pts average prediction. It is the lowest average points predicted game of the 5 in this block 🤔

The Coventry game is more massiver than Sheffield Wednesday Football Club. It's gargantuan !

Out of the five fixtures, Cov definitely concern me the most. I've not checked but I imagine they are quite high up (if not top of) the form table.

I was very interested to see how Cov would do under Lampard - with the jury on him very much still out - and fair play he's gotten them playing some decent stuff.

I've gone for a draw (specifically 1-1 or 2-2 score draw) as I think we will score first but then do our usual sit deep and defend a slender lead, which Cov will have too much for.

Updated following game 3/5

Sheffield United 3-1 Coventry City

7/9 = 2.3 ppg

The general voting has this pretty much spot on so far, but the game by game predictions has only one person on 3/3. Well done JS Blade. Obviously we all hope you get a clean sweep !

ChatGPT is beating the forum aggregate 😉

Updated following game 4/5

Oxford United 1-0 Sheffield United

7/12 = 1.71 ppg

ISZA ⚔️ went full negative on the predictions, and subsequently was the only person that correctly predicted a loss today.

Many moons ago I had a brilliant night out. Everything went brilliantly. Perfect day. Great times with great people. A Class time. Then I shat the bed. I learnt my lesson. Hopefully the Blades do, too

Sheffield United 0-1 Millwall

Well this has all gone a bit shit

7 points in total from the 5 games, so just 8 people out of the 291 that voted got this right. A real drop off a cliff at the end of this penultimate block.

Well done to those 8 people, and also to JS Blade who got 3 correct predictions from teh 5 games. The only person who predicted either of the last two games correctly was ISZA ⚔️ , and he got them both right, zooming up the ladder from dead last to 19th, which is actually joint 2nd

I'll do another one for the final 5 games. I'll set it up tomorrow. There will be some seriously interesting views in that, I'm sure.

Thanks for playing again everyone. UTB

The aggregate forum prediction got every game wrong 🤣
I guess the saying is true that 'a person is smart, but people are dumb'

The games we were collectively most confident of winning, we dropped points.

It’s still not over until it’s over.

Average position of our opposition =16.

Average position of Burnley opposition = 9.8

Average position of Leeds opposition = 16.

So whilst Burnley are in the box seat they have much harder fixtures now.

For us not winning at home is poor. Dropping points against them is a lot more understandable than against Derby for instance.

So, perhaps there are still some twists and turns but in layman’s terms we really have to pull our finger out now!

We are a busted flush … we’ve waited all season for something resembling a consistently good performance level and it’s never been achieved … the hens have now come home to roost

All season results have masked abysmal performances and some fans have revelled in how utter shit we are but manage to get results whilst others (rightly) pointed out it won’t last forever.

We won’t turn it round because quite honestly the players and management team don’t know how.

I’ve watched enough of United over the last 30 years to know when players put performances in like the last two that something is off and it’s not coming back on

Momentum is key at this stage and we have non.

For me it has the feel of the Steve Thompson season where we just quietly lost everything good about the team and went out with a whimper in the play offs … in fact that’s unfair … back then we sold our two best players.. this season wilder was backed …

This is the same feel but worse far worse

I'm not sure average position matters now. I'd rather play QPR than Plymouth.

We have to play:

Team fighting relegation
Team fighting relegation
Team fight promotions
Team fighting relegation
Team fighting playoffs

Although the last two might end up being dead rubbers.

Blackburn have given up fighting. You'll be OK with that one.
