I mean I applaud the confidence and I won't ever claim it's an easy 3 points but, we sit top of the table, off the back of a good home win, a fantastic away record and some of the best players in the league.

They're flirting with relegation. If the roles were reversed I wouldn't be sat here with their confidence. Fair play to them I suppose and I guess that's something I quite like about the championship. It's entirely possible a team like Oxford could turn up, fuck our promotion chase up and then a couple weeks later we could smash Burnley 5-0. An interesting league.

Glad someone recognised Wilders love of parking the bus though.

They're right about the heat. How am I expected to do my legendary (in my head) goal celebrations in these conditions?

To paraphrase a well known SWFC twitter account...

"How dare they say we've only scraped past teams. Everything they say is true though"

It's always the case that there's a few fans knocking about who are a bit daft, and make outlandish predictions. As demonstrated by the ones who sounds remarkably confident to be going up against the (statistically) best team in the league. I do really like this comment though:

"They’ve lost as many games as Leeds and Burnley combined – but they don’t drop anywhere near as many unnecessary points. Their defeats are against Leeds x2, Burnley, Middlesbrough, Sunderland and (anomaly) Hull. Their draws vs WBA x2, Coventry, Bristol City, Norwich, Pompey and QPR.
That’s just 9 points dropped against anyone outside the Top 8. For comparison Burnley have dropped 21 to the same sides (too much tippy tappy) and Leeds 23 (dodgy Keeper)."

I hadn't looked at those numbers myself, and I'm really surprised that Burnley and Leeds have dropped so many points to lower sides. Most of those are draws as well considering how few defeats those 2 teams have.

Can someone explain what they mean by "flat track bullies" is that a breed of dog like a XL bullie?
Had to look this up myself, it's actually cricket terminology. Batting well on a flat track/wicket where you can score loads of runs but unable to do so on a sticky wicket with variable bounce etc.
They're implying we only but regularly beat the shit teams.

Cheers Roy.

“…..the occasional moment of magic from Ricky Holmes……”

I must have missed those in his five appearances for us.
It's a cricketing term.

Think in means the batsmen punishes bowlers when the pitch is easy to bat on because it's flat and lifeless. But not so good when conditions get tricky and offer the bowler something

Thanks Roy.

I don't mind those over confident remarks, no point in walking around with a personal overhead cloud, & even the negative ones are not abusive at all, so fair play.

Alexa, please translate "Sheffield United are flat track bullies"

Sure, here's what I found; "Sheffield United like to regularly win football matches"
Many years ago in a different galaxy, far far away, that’s what lendegoey used to say about us, it wasn’t a compliment.

Mind you, he also used to say that the oinkers (in a league below us at the time) would be back in The Premiership (as it was at the time) before us. Since which time, we’ve gone 3-0 up, hopefully about to be 4-0.

Needs a lot of professionalism this game. Rowett is no mug. Hold it tight for 15 then do what we do, score and win.

For some reason this hasn’t riled me like it would from fans of other clubs. The negative comments are pretty much what a lot on here have been moaning about, and the confident ones aren’t being disparaging. I like this lot.

Check back with me after the post-match comments about bent refs and thuggery.

To say they hardly won a game of football recently you have to admire their misplaced confidence & critique of the team that is top of the league .
I find it more baffling as they by far the worst team we’ve played this season .. only one on their recognises this ..i was fuming tbh in the home game when CW did the wholesale subs that night & we totally lost momentum..that was a game we really could have improved our goal difference ⚔️

Simple fact is that every player that will be on our bench would get if their team and the likes of Ohare, Souza, JRS, Holding, Cannon, Moore would be their best players. So we have at least 17 players better than them (possible exception Brannigan) and they don't have one player who would make our first 11. We will also have a sold out away end thst will outsing them in their library ground

On paper it's a resounding win however we play on grass....

And the playing on grass bit didn't go well
