Only won 1 of their last 11 league fixtures.

Has a bit of a banana skin feel to it if we take them lightly.

Tough team to play on their own patch.

Please don't underestimate them Wilder, continue to play our best XI.

Actually, just looked and you're right mate. Pretty impressive home form second half of the season.

But not that tough eh?! ;)

Halfway through the season seemed like they thought they could do a Luton and scrape into the playoffs.

However their confidence and belief seems to have been sucked out of them recently.

Just need to make sure we don't give them a reason to get their confidence back and really attack them from the get go

When I was charting the difficulty rating of remaining fixtures, they were actually picking up more points per game at home than Leeds were away ( think that's changed since then tho) and on paper showed it being a tougher test.

It screamed banana skin fixture to me at the time.

Yeah, I seem to remember them starting off well.
I was surprised how easily we turned them over at the Lane.
Still, as you say, we'll need to be 'on it' ourselves to avoid any potential slip ups.

Wilder is old school with plenty of lower division experience.

I expect him to build up the task ahead making it very clear to the players it will be tough. Very confident we won’t under estimate them.
The good news is the opposition want to play, we can play too. If the opposition want to battle, then we can battle too.

As long as he doesn't turn around and present his bare arse to them like he did with Leeds, we're okay.

There was a strange sort of 'bottle job' mentality about those fixtures that I just can't ignore. If he things Leeds are concerning how is he going to react when Arsenal arrive at the Lane?

A few seasons ago when we got our chance in the Prem it felt like Wilders attitude (and by extension the squad) was that we were the underdog in every fixture, so we walked out with pride, gave everything we could and regardless of the result we returned with head heald high knowing we gave it everything. I saw the opposite against Leeds. Twice.

Because you've rewritten the events in your head to fit the narrative. At the Lane we went at Leeds, pressed them high and rattled them, putting in one of the best performances of the season.

Nothing will change this narrative in people's heads though, even the OP is implying Wilder wouldn't play our best eleven, like that's a thing he does sometimes for a laugh. On target to win the title with a record points haul, but a minority of our fans are convinced he's inept and that they know how and why.

Been talking to a couple of Oxford fans tonight. They tell me we have nothing to fear. They both think it should be an easy win for us as they have nothing to offer atm.

They play in yellow and black so a rather over ripe banana skin at that.

Sounds like their psych corps are getting in early. Rowett will be lauding Wilder as the next England manager before long!

With Leeds and Burnley away at not so easy places to go, I can see at least one of them dropping points again... we'll play at 3pm afterwards with a real incentive to go 5 clear.

My apologies. It's these lying eyes of mine. What I thought I saw was a side convert a 1-0 lead on to a 3-1 loss, at home.

I didn't realise it was the best performance this season. If you thought that was an amazing showing you are in for an absolute feast next season when Liverpool and Arsenal turn up.
