I'm looking for the teams and squad numbers for a particular game and I can't seem to find the information anywhere!

Home game against Port Vale, 04/03/97 - Does anyone have a copy of this programme?

I'm doing something on Dean Saunders goal from the throw in. I was at the game and I'm sure I used to have the programme but can't find it :(

Foxy has a lot from that year up in the loft. I'm sure he'll go and have a neb later (while avoiding doing the pots).

Haha that would be much appreciated! I was digging through mine last night but no success!

Ridiculous isn't it?! You could wait 50 years and it still wouldn't be worth a tenner!

1. Kelly, 2. Wilder, 3. Quinn, 4 Hamilton, 5. Sandford, 6. Holdsworth, 7. Ford, 8. Marker, 9. Taylor, 10. Marcelo, 11. Stuart.
Subs: Saunders (56 for Taylor), Dellas (69 for Ford), Derry (78 for Hamilton).

Don't think squad numbers were in operation that season.

Hmm, I will have to investigate further!

I can see from the video Saunders was wearing no.12 but I need the squad numbers for Port Vale as well, specifically players no. 5 and 6! I will post what I'm doing as soon as I've got the right information!

I'm sure we've got that but I've been for a quick look and can't put my hand on it.

Though it's not a blinding shock considering that his Lordship's approach to filing them involves leaving them in my handbag/on my bookshelf/in the car until I get sick of seeing them, pile them up and dump them in the general area the rest of the United stuff occupies in the loft.

They'll have disintegrated before he can be arsed to put them into any sort of order you can reference/build some shelves.

Dear oh dear. I just moved and the movers messed up my lovingly filed collection. A priority job was putting it in order again. All done now :-)

My bad!

I might go and take a picture. It'd make you cry.

Although there's a consistent theme of Foxy dumping stuff right the way through the loft at the minute. Anyone want a dozen dead xboxes?

Ive got some stats from my complete record of Utd 1889 -1999 if thats any good for you - list of players/crowd etc?

What's with the wooden spoon? Have you been raiding United's trophy cabinet? :)

No, that's the forum's trophy cabinet.

The Sheff-Utd.co.uk forum (as we were then) team were embroiled in a match-fixing scandal whereby, upon realising they weren't going to win the 2006 Mel Rees tournament but really really wanted to get something, decided to aim for the wooden spoon instead.

Any extra information would be appreciated Ange!

Tried to scan the page in but since upgrading to windows 8.1 there's been a few probs with the printer/scanner... so I'll put the info below........
We won 2-1, (0-0 at HT) goals scored by Marcelo & Saunders, the crowd was 15,860. The team (squad nos. in brackets- Tri Dellas,(13) Shaun Derry(14),Bobby Ford(7),,Ian Hamilton((4), David Holdsworth(6), Alan Kelly(1), Marcelo(10), Nicky Marker(8) Wayne Quinn(3), Lee Sandford(5) Dean Saunders(12) Graham Stuart(11), Gareth Taylor(9),Chris Wilder(2) Steve Thompson was given the manager's job until the end ofthis season, after Spackman resigned at the beginning of March. There's an underscore under Ian Hamilton's No. 4 - assume this was the use of a sub? This was our 109th season and we finished 6th in Div 1 - hope this is of assistance,

Thanks Ange, that's great!

According to soccerbase.com Derry came on for Hamilton in the 76th minute and all subs were used. Man of the match maybe?
