They're wingers aren't they ?

Despite being fully fluent in English ,
They'll probably have difficulty with :

Tight games.
Fine margins.
Pass it sideways around the back.
Play on your weaker foot and
Do NOT try to beat the FB on the outside and put a dangerous cross in.
It's called an "inverted winger" ,
Basically , don't use your pace , just turn inside and get swallowed by the opposition defence.

It's boring and produces few chances but it's the modern diktat.
Quick you'd better tell... Hundreds of top level managers.

If either of these lads has serious pace and trickery, it might be useful to have him on the bench, in place of a surplus loanee?
Might come in handy if we are struggling in a game?

So, despite Wilders comments about "a team of internationals doesn't work" we have signed 2 forriners....welcome to BDTBL Christian Nwachukwu & Jefferson Caceres..... so is this the end of #brexitblades as we know it?

It appears, maybe, we have gone above Wilders head to sign these two, based on a Football Manager type of strategy with the owners sanctioning the moves based on "data"....will they even feature in the match day squad? are they "ones for the future" who will mainly be involved with the U23's or are they investments that may develop into mega money sales in the future?

Have we unearthed the next Riyad Mahrez/N'Golo Kante?

Would love us to have found a new cult player in the Vas Borbokis type of mould....but of course, they could just be another Richario or Retsos.....

We will see but either way, these types of signings do get the pulse racing!

This is going to be one hell of a culture shock for them. The language, the weather, the lifestyle, living away, the style, the food, the fans...
I honestly hope it works out, but Wilder has always said he doesn't have time for people to take 10 games plus to bed in. People laugh that he wants Brits, they moan at the reasoning, but it makes complete sense to me.
If this comes off though, maybe it'll change Wilder's views long term.
You'd better tell the rest of the EFL and the Premiership then or visit Peru in the winter - quite a contradiction when we have just signed a CH who hasn't played a men's grown up game of football for 18 months

Is the OP confusing the words internationals and forriners? players don't have to be foreign to be internationals. I think his meaning was playing for their country rather than being from another country. I really think people look for things that aren't there at times.

I dont know what you're saying there.
Did all that just mean.. Peru is cold in winter?

'As tha' not seen video o' im; he's reight rapid.

Someone`s vanity project ,not Wilders . Are we the first to use AI to find a player ?, will we be trend setting again , in Sheffield ? I suppose if it is a success it will be Manchesters idea .
I think the guys who own Notts County are a few years ahead of us !,

Oh dear. How do you imagine teams like Bournemouth and Brighton identify potential signings? This is 2025 and progressive clubs are way beyond the outdated concepts that scouts and recruiters used to work to. I don't care if we have a squad identified by AI or algorhytm. I don't care where they come from, so long as they can win at football and move us forward.

I was thinking that about coming from Peru. But I bet Nigerian to Bulgaria is a bigger change than Bulgaria to England. This opinion is based on absolutely no knowledge or insight, but the fact that he has already moved continents once might make it less of a wrench.
I worked in Sofia for a few months, and I agree totally. I was treated like royalty, but I'm a white heterosexual male. If you don't tick all three boxes as a foreigner it would be tough and lonely experience, especially as a youngster. Sheffield is one of the most welcoming cities in the UK. Hope he settles in happily.

Resettling in any occupation is difficult, when there’s a language barrier involved as well it can become even more difficult. One of the historical criticisms of a lot of English clubs is that they spend multiples of £m’s on players in fees and wages and then don’t help them to settle and wonder why they aren’t performing.

If he plays them that is.

I thought Brentford (and Brighton) have always been praised by many of OUR fans for their background teams analysis of players performance numbers along with a wish that we too could buy young unknown players and then sell them on for huge profits

Not sure if they are still at the club but they were hiring people specifically for international players to help them when we first got promoted

I remember seeing the positions advertised a few years ago, there are many companies who the club could outsource the responsibility to as well. Global relocations is a big business. Even I got a relocation agent the couple of times I’ve moved overseas, it’s a worthwhile investment as anything that helps get someone’s mind on work and not on little life admin tasks is a good thing.

Quick you'd better tell... Hundreds of top level managers.

Have a look at Mackems winner v Boro.
Have a look at our winner at Derby.
Have a look at Bogles run down the RW for Leed's 2nd at Coventry.
Have a look at the chances created (and goal) by Burnley v Oxford.

And that's just this week !

Then try telling me that fast wing play and crosses delivered in conventional winger style don't produce
Chances
Goals
Panicking defenders
Excitement & entertainment
But more importantly - Wins.

The evidence is there.

No need to follow the boring crowd.

Just use your own eyes , CW.

Whatever approach is used, channels, wings, by line etc,our attempts to create opportunities is too sluggish. Quick incisive passing is required to create goals, wherever they come from.

We as a collective, are too slow.

Hopefully that's what these new lads will eventually bring.

English players playing in England bring solidness and toughness. (vital in spine of team)

But if you want that quick attacking flair you're going to have to at some point start including foreign players in your team/squad.

Technically, returned loan, profit, profit. Maybe slim margins but that's the basics of the model.

If they are cheaper signings but then do well here and/or bring a profit, then that'll do for me.
Does your calculation of profit include their.wages and a portion of the clubs running costs while they were here?

It’s probably a bit of a ‘free’ gamble in football. If it works then great you could have an NDiaye situation where you’ve got a £20m football for less than £1m. If it doesn’t then so be it you’re probably going to get a similar return on your investment.

I hate the debate but it feels worthwhile bringing it in to topic, but if you compare the ‘gambles’ where these gambles don’t work are when you pay £20-25m on unproven young players like we did with Brewster who in many ways was a gamble because he wasn’t a proven premier league striker and we spent beyond our means on him.

Are your eyes definitely more reliable than hundreds/thousands of professional football coaches eyes (and brains), who additionally use all sorts of data and technologies to support what they see with their eyes?

They're both staying in the hotel at Bramall Lane. Staff at the hotel are having to communicate with them via Google translate...

True story.
How dare they come over here, and not be able to speak the English language instantly.
You wouldn’t catch us Brits going abroad and expect everyone to speak our language, would you?
How’s your Peruvian, and Nigerian these days?

I think you will find English is the main language spoken in Nigeria apart from out in the countryside.
