So up for this.

Don’t give a shit if it’s another Ismaila Coulibaly, if we sign 10 of these players and our scouting system is good 2 or 3 should be class and another 2 or 3 worth signing.

Agreed, you never know which players could end up being an Ndiaye type signing. Got to be worth gambling a small proportion of our transfer budget on young lads with potential.

I was more excited on the Peruvian lad as he's older and more likely to be able to make an impact sooner. Not sure if that's happening now though if we've not announced it yet. Still could happen though I guess.

Genuinely love signings like this. Think we would’ve been happy at Holding being the last one of the window but why not take a punt and see if either of them impact us in anyway - literally no pressure for either of them as we have a lot of options there. Excited for them both, must be a huge decision for them to come to a completely new country and not speak hardly any English. GLTBL

The 22-year-old has agreed terms on a deal until 2027, with the option of a further year, after an undisclosed fee was agreed between the two clubs.

On the signing, boss Chris Wilder commented: "With the collaborative way we work with regards signings, the options available to the club under the new ownership allows us to cast our net further afield.

"I've spoken previously about how we are looking to be more data driven with some of our targets, and we have explored the use of this to find players which were previously not on our radar.

"Jefferson has been identified using this strategy, he's a young lad who we're keen to develop."

During his time with FBC Melgar, he helped the club to an impressive unbeaten run at the back end of last season which enabled them to finish in the higher echelons of the Peruvian top flight.

He has been involved heavily in pre-season, with the new Peruvian campaign set to get underway this weekend.

Arriving in Sheffield on Monday, he commented: "I am pleased to be joining Sheffield United and I am looking forward to my next challenge."
