Its about time we started feeling around this area , I get the feeling our new owners won't just follow cw,s list like pa did ( personally I don't think Abdullah could deal with cw,s tantrums)
Des Taylor will be tasked with identifying targets that will add to the squad and with a potential profit resale value
Cw will get a say in signings but not the final word

Have you just made this up, or is any of the above true?

There's new work permit rules which allow you to allocate players to ESC permits - think you're allotted four at a time.

The only question mark is that they need to play a certain percentage of minutes in order for them convert them to full time work permits the season after. Not sure what we've got planned there!

Always up for feeling around a Brazilian tbqf.

Clubs need to make a compelling case for their "significant contribution." apparently.

'Here's a summary of the new ruling, based on the Reuters article and other sources:

  • Elite Significant Contribution (ESC) Route: The Football Association (FA) has introduced a new pathway for clubs to sign overseas players who don't meet the traditional GBE points requirements. This is called the ESC route.
  • How it Works: Clubs are allocated a certain number of "ESC slots" per season, depending on the league they play in and the amount of playing time given to England-qualified players (EQP) in their squad. These slots allow them to sign players who are deemed to make a significant contribution to the club and the league, even if they don't have enough international caps or other points.
  • Rationale: This change aims to help English clubs compete for global talent, especially young players who might not have accumulated enough international experience yet. It also encourages clubs to develop and play homegrown talent.
  • ESC Slot Allocation:
    • Premier League and Championship: 2-4 slots (depending on EQP playing time)
    • League One and Two: 2 slots
  • Key Considerations:
    • Limited Slots: The number of ESC slots is limited, so clubs need to use them strategically.
    • EQP Playing Time: Clubs that give more playing time to EQP players get more ESC slots.
    • FA Approval: The FA still needs to approve the players signed through the ESC route, ensuring they meet the "significant contribution" criteria.

Implications for Cáceres and Nwachukwu:

  • Potential Opportunity: This new ruling could provide a pathway for Cáceres and Nwachukwu to join an EFL Championship club, even without senior international caps.
  • Club's Decision: It would be up to your club to assess whether they believe these players have the potential to make a "significant contribution" and if they are willing to use one of their ESC slots on them.
  • Competition: Other Championship clubs will also be looking to use their ESC slots, so your club would need to make a strong case for why Cáceres or Nwachukwu deserve a slot.

  • Still Complex: While the ESC route offers a new opportunity, it's still a complex process. Your club will need to work closely with immigration lawyers and football agents to navigate the regulations and make a successful application.
This new ruling is a game-changer, and it's great that you brought it to my attention. It definitely gives players like Cáceres and Nwachukwu a fighting chance. However, it's essential to remember that it's still a competitive process, and your club will need to make a compelling case for their "significant contribution."'

How do you know ?

Edit, thought the translate link would come through as well...

"Peruvian Jefferson Cáceres, who plays for Melgar, is in England finalising his signing for Sheffield United, a club in the second division of that country. He has already passed medical tests."

So we can expect 2 wingers and 1 CB that will sign tonight. Would be an awesome window if that happens on top of what we have already done.

I’ve been looking at YouTube vids for all the wingers/wide players we’re allegedly trying to sign …
I could be wrong but none of them look like they’re ready to walk into our first team. “Ones for the future” perhaps?? 🤷‍♂️
The interesting thing is that they all look like they could be auditioning for Iliman’s or MGW’s shirt…

I'll take that comparison! 😂
