Thanks Roygbiv not much point in reading this. Sometimes a player just doesn't work around a club and I can imagine the uneducated comments based on someone who has not been given a chance.

Happy to welcome him back to a club that will embrace him and give hime a fair crack. Up the Blades and so off Southampton.

Can we have a view from, from when they signed him? I'm guessing not, but it would be hilarious to judge the contrast.

Tbh when you’re bottom of the league all of your strikers look sh1t we have first hand experience of that our stand out player for the first half of last season was a defender and we conceded over 100 goals!

To be fair to Southampton fans Villarreal and Forest fans all think the same. Even Blackburn fans say he was very hit and miss for them.

I don’t think they like him
I think your right , I think he will get 10 goals for us if he hits the ground running & stays fit .
All these southampton fans saying he will be an asset for them next season are missing the point .
If he fires us the the prem surely he stays here .

Thanks Ro
Southampton, who are on course to beat our worst every PL season.

There I've said it.
I was surprised at that, I thought he was ok for them, albeit maybe a bit patchy. Scored against Wendy for them last season, which was nice too.

Sometimes a player just does not fit in and BBD certainly didn’t fit in at Southampton. He certainly fits in here though and I cannot wait for him to get started. Hope he plays against Swansea. Excellent signing.

we had villerreal saying he wasnt good enough to play for their village team. then was amazing for last season being our top scorer in a dreadful team. so im not worried about there ali dia comparisions. everyones game is different & his doesnt suit possession based game

They can say what they want about BBD but in the short time he was here last season he has shown he can score goals at the top level, one step down in the Championship I think he will be a beast for us, can't wait to see him put on the shirt. Well happy with this signing it gives the whole club a lift.

please god we never get a Russel Martin type manager.. we briefly flirted with it under Weir. If that’s the future of football then count me out.

I couldn't agree more.

The Adkins and Robson periods were awful, but for me the games under Weir were the most alarming. We fluked a win first game (Notts County?) then sold Kevin McDonald and from that moment on it was simply clueless.

I remember going to Brentford, where we lost heavily (1-4?), I watched him pre, during and post game. He was dressed for a corporate video, in a nice Italian suit and designer shoes, but his demeanour was the antipathy of a football manager. I didn't see him speak to anyone, he just stood on the touchline, motionless.

Apart from walking past the away end 4 times - without even looking in our direction, the only gesture of note was when he removed his jacket. It was quite clear he wasn't fit to be a manager, and has never attempted since. A rabbit in the headlights and the most bizarre appointment ever.
