Time for Wilder and the team to step up and do what they said, move on to list 2 quick. Late night meetings at Shirecliffe last night suggests to me that’s what’s happening so at least another 1/2 games before new players are recruited let alone match ready.

This could scupper our season.

Hardly anything about him (or Cannon) up here - little / no alehouse talk - newspaper has mentioned it in passing but basically ‘reporting / rehashing stuff already ‘reported’ - citing Sheffield Star as their primary ‘source’ ?!?!?

(Slightly) interesting is that Sunderland Echo feels that SAFC wouldn’t be able to match us for wages - they do have a ‘tight’ wage structure although I’m unclear how they’d have knowledge of our arrangements
They are running a story about interest in a (£5m) Croatian forward plying his trade in Sweden which is more akin to their transfer strategy of late (young ‘forriners’ with potential for a modest(ish) fee ) . No reference to BBD or Cannon within that piece

I have big problems with the apparent fee for Cannon but bringing in 2 players like him and The Great Diaz in a January window is unprecedented and would strengthen our attack in a monumental way, transform it in fact

I'm guessing BBD will be a loan but that's only based on that Wilder has said he intends to fill the three loan spots still available. But maybe the other permanent coming is BBD. I'd like Doyle back on a permanent as well but I'd imagine that one will be a loan.

They'll know how much we pay, the players all share how much they're on at different clubs.

Players are a different breed, how much they are on, is one of the first questions they get asked after moving clubs.

Even if we had it’s not something I can remember us doing. If he’s there in the stands then I’d say the deals likely done or at least Southampton have agreed the deal and it’s down to sorting things out with the player in terms of any bonuses and incentives he wants on top of us covering some or all of his wages for Southampton but we’ve tended to want to separate announcements for signings.
