Definitely the better of the two at centre back!

For me , he was the one who understood the remit and took his chance.

The only explanation for the drop off from the first team players was that the way were under strict instruction to be 50% and no more

Thought he was really good considering. I’d be happy enough with him as our 4th choice centre half.

Thought we looked a bit nervy, early on, but grew into the game. Don't remember him having any issues in the 2nd half. Bit early to be calling for a first team spot but a good audition.

That's all well and good if being 50% means you need to get your passes 50% right.

I missed the first 25 but after that I was quite impressed with him as a young lad getting his chance looked calm and composed but errant with his passing for the rest of the first half but that wasn’t an issue unique to him.

Second half he displayed a good first touch kept it simple taking the easy option on the ball to keep things ticking knew when to drop off and when to get tight and a couple of times bailed us out as last man. Obviously you’d hope there’s more in the tank than that as he continues his development but it was a decent showing in a shocking team performance and it’ll be interesting to watch if he can develop further.

I actually thought he was pure garbage first half. Looked much better playing next to Robinson.
I think you are being harsh about the first half. The ball that went for a corner. He needed to get a touch on that as it was an excellent through ball that was going to favour the forward. He blocked a few more . The second half he was more adventurous going forward.

I'm really not sure where the praise is coming from. He got better as the game went on but was a liability first half (looked nervous which is to be expected). I wonder if people would be saying nice things about him if that terrible backpass had gone in? It was only luck it didn't. He's obviously young and needs the experience of playing regularly at a lower level before it's possible to judge him.

He was alright against, realistically, a league one standard front line. No need to get carried away

Though he got better as it went on, but he is a way off Championship football. I would hope we sign 2 centre halves this window meaning we have 4 for 2 positions and can leave Gilchrist at full back. Like a few others he needs a loan for 6 months and to play.

RND didn't look very confident last night either, was obviously at fault for the goal but was not running at full tilt like he did pre his latest injury.

More vital we get another CB in than ever now if he's back on the injury list.

I’d say a CH is a number one priority obvious to see how much more vulnerable and naive we are without Souter
