All he's droned on about is the kop being closed and that its like an U 21s game.......errr, it is you thick twat

My Dad said when he left us to join Bolton he was apparently slagging the club off and calling us shit so he’s a cunt in my opinion.
He sounded like a c**t all night on comms tonight

TBF when I realised he was on comms expected the worst but he was actually okay and said some (unexpected) positive things about his time with us.
I thought that too. He talked about the atmosphere at the lane being good, Kop especially. I thought he was respectful overall. He's a big Cardiff City guy but thought he was decent tonight.

It's a shame he doesn't seem to like us now based on the article he did a few years back but as a player for us he was quality.

He’s gone on record a number of times about his dislike for us.

Howard Kendall sold him to Bolton after a decent seasons averaging a goal every other game. As I recall the manner of his departure suggested something had gone off. There were rumours that Howard Kendall was a racist and this may have played a part but I believe these have been debunked.

He subsequently believed he’s been racially abused by our supporters when he returned with Bolton although most accounts from our side suggest there was a chant of “you fat bastard” which was possibly misheard as something else.

I was only about 10 when he started playing for us but really liked him as a player. Signed from Cardiff after being the star of their cup run in 94. A good finisher with bags of pace, it seemed like we’d found a replacement for Brian Deane. Maybe I’m misremembering but was gutted to see him leave.

Blake got hooked at half-time in Kendall's first game in charge, a 0-0 draw at Ipswich, and never played for us again. At a 'Meet the fans' evening a few weeks later, Kendall was asked about this and said he'd seen things that day that should never be seen on a football pitch. No idea what he meant.

I had it on the telly on mute and Radio Sheffield on over the top just to avoid the Boyo Bias and instead had Leigh Bromby calling us “Sheffield” all night. Adam Oxley kept emphasising Sheffield UNITED, but he didn't get the hint and carried on relentlessly.

I’d like to think its because he played for both us and them lot and now considers us the only team in the city worth mentioning, rather than the ill-prepared, phoning it in, disinterested boring bastard he came across as.

What's happened to Asaba on there? He actually gave a shit and was clued up in what was actually happening at the club.

Some icebergs, a bear trap, sprinklers that shoot poisoned darts out instead of water and Dean Hammond. Someone had slipped some DMT into his pre-match pint I believe.

It was a 1-1 draw. The game where Kendall had completely changed the way we played in less than 7 days. It was remarkable. We hardly ever lifted the ball off the ground. Starbuck scored for us.

Whilst what Kendall said is new to me, the main reason Blake never played again was that we sold him and used to money as part of the funding for the many new signings we made in the next few months.

After the likes of Brian Deane , Mick Jones and the noble Doctor Pace , Nathan Blake is high on my list of the best strikers we ever had in my lifetime .

I don’t know the ins and outs of why Kendall came to sell but remember being both surprised and bitterly disappointed at the time .

What I do know is that his goalscoring record for us was hugely impressive and that he never seemed to lack determination and the will to do his best for the cause .

I strongly suspect that his derogatory comments about us later stemmed from the fact that he never wanted to leave in the first place and resented the fact that he was forced to do so .

Good player for us, good finisher, had a decent touch and a massive arse.

Wasn’t his Mum on Crimewatch around the time he played for us or have I just made that up?
.
