He's on the bench today 😄 Don't think he was injured previously so strange he is now making the bench. Read some comments from Southampton fans about his potential departure and almost all were "I'll drive him there myself" "He's useless"

He's played 448 minutes for them spread over 10 games.
How have they formed this opinion on him?

Maybe they should play him more as currently, they're worse than we were last season

If I was BBD I'd be begging to let me go. Soton are worse than a train wreck (sporting not really). Blades on the up and want you. Sure it'll be down to price and wages, but he needs to move on.

No need to bother...I'll happily fetch him.

Probably be McBurnie rather than BBD.

Will be interesting to see what our new owners are about in this window.

Get him in with Barry, don't mess about, showsome ambition

Agree, the last time we showed big ambition was when we bought Brewster, we had the audacity to pinch the new Michael Owen off Liverpool.

At the time he was the hottest young talent in English football and many of the Liverpool fans were furious their club were selling him on the cheap for 24 million.

Just proves spending big still carries risk.

It would be a massive risk to buy anyone decent because presumably they would be demanding at least Brewster money.

If we’re promoted then paying decent wages is fine however if we fail then we need to lower the wage bill not increase it.

The owners could be ambitious billionaires but FFP rules stop them from over gambling and spending big, which is a positive because buying good players is fine if it works

But when it doesn’t work, like the Brewster transfer then it puts a real strain on the clubs finances.

So I’d say don’t buy Bereton Diaz because we can’t afford his wages, however a loan deal just for this season makes sense.
great point pal why cant we loan him till end of season then buy him if we go up m8ty just get diaz in bud hes class

Hoping it's a loan with a view to a permanent with the option in SUFC's favour, or a pre agreed amount once BBD plays x number of games.

Southampton and BBD is a horrible fit. He's a counter attacking player, Southampton take 15 passes to get out of their own box. Horrendous choice from whoever runs S'oton's transfers

I'm hoping we don't sign him and then play him central, up front. He's not very good at it.

Hamer picking the ball up deeper and finding Brooks/BBD/O'Hare with incisive, early passes would add a huge new dimension to the attack. Having BBD up front and being unable to hold the ball up will frustrate everyone

Agree with that. Though you can see it happening at some point, if our injury record doesn’t improve, unless we also sign a viable striker in this window.

This would be great buisness. Hope he hits the ground running again. Will give us another way to play with his direct approach. Few more quality signings and few back from injury and we've got a chance.

We've given opposition right backs the afternoon off for most of the season, now they'll have something to think about.

Hopefully it'll mean they can't "tuck inside" any more and it'll create more gaps for Hamer, Campbell and O'Hare etc to exploit

BBD is not the solution, he is the start of the solution.

Our rivals have quality (at this level) running through the squad.

We can’t put a quality team out in EVERY position at the moment.

BBD is a great start but tread careful Uncle Sam with the other signings we need $$$$ to back the squad. If Wilder is expected to buy cheap and work miracles it won’t work.

He’s whipping the pedigree players we have got and kids to the limit to get results (and doing a bloody good job even though I’m not a long term fan) but that strategy is not sustainable IF we get promoted.

Hopefully Wilder+Taylor (if Taylor is still involved cause I don’t trust Wilder individual judgement at times) can identify the right targets but they need the boards backing.

Wilder said talks were incredibly positive, he seems to have an emotional level of positivity above his usual grind out results attitude. My guess is we will know a lot more come the FA cup game with new recruits being played for match fitness and targets identified/signed by Norwich.

Yesterday was one of the most significant results in my 65+ years supporting the Blades. After 1/9 I felt our season was doomed to playoffs at best. Now, after the performance of many seasons I’m hoping again.
