True. But actually putting himself about and doing a few decent things is better than he’s done in 90% of his appearances. It’s a step in the right directionFluffed his chances, cannot score. We didnt pay all that money for him to just run around and try hard![]()
He’s not a striker. Thats very clear. I’m not sure what he is but seems to do better when he’s nowhere near the box. Maybe we should try him as a full backI thought. Brewster was a striker who scored goals. Tonight he played as a meandering attacking midfielder.
I don’t get why he is still here.
Not looking for negatives just saying it how it is, he's missed a big chance and I thought he was nothing more than adequate, the Sunderland strikers both looked much better than him.You say he's never looked like scoring tonight but he's playing in the position O'Hare usually plays and he usually looks even less like scoring than Brewster. I'm not a Brewster cheerleader by any stretch but why can't we appreciate a good performance from him without trying to find a negative all the time.
He played well but never looks like scoring.Brewster played well overall and tried hard.
Shooting needs work but we have bigger problems than that at the moment.
Tactically tonight we were poor. 66% possession but they had more shots on target. We have too many players taking too many touches going nowhere. Wilder needs to make adjustments but why keep swapping full backs. Burrows should be starting all the big games. He is a better defender and more direct going forwards
So the penalty wasn’t a clear cut chance. Yes he snatched at it but let’s be honest here he was one of our better performers tonightOnly clear cut chance fell to Brewster we all knew how that would end

Yes gifting the goals and penalty were was poor. But Souza and to a certain extent Souttar and Burrows have been getting back and covering off attacks and limiting the shots on target. For the last month or so we have been exposed at the back without teams taking advantage. Our formation and tactics need tweaking. In possession we don't create or take enough chances. When we lose the ball and they break we are under pressure to get back.He played well but never looks like scoring.
Missing a penalty and gifting them 2 goals played into their hands, they never had to force the game and were happy to sit back and hit us on the counter.
He looked an “adequate” Championship player tonight so a big step up on what we’ve seen so far this season.
Well done Rhian.

Apart from the penalty of course….Only clear cut chance fell to Brewster we all knew how that would end
League one next seasonApart from the penalty of course….
Brewster also put in a couple of great balls in that forwards should have been in on. He didn’t play as a striker today so he shouldn’t be judged entirely on his finishing. He created more than what I can remember from our other midfielders.
You said our only clear cut change fell to Brewster. That's demonstrably untrue and is nonsense, it fell to Moore.League one next season
Only Clear cut chance in open play and he fluffed it when it was easier to hit the target …happy nowYou said our only clear cut change fell to Brewster. That's demonstrably untrue and is nonsense, it fell to Moore.
I do not see what league you think he's playing at next year is in any way relevant to the point I made.
What was the XG on that chance? I mean now we've agreed it wasn't the only clear cut chance, let's investigate a bit more how "clear cut" it was so we can compare.Only Clear cut chance in open play and he fluffed it when it was easier to hit the target …happy now
He's not far off Wolves away levels now. I'd start him again Saturday.
Wilder needs adjusting out the back door again for us to take advantage of our current league position. Sounds like he’s after the same old people to grind results out. Unlike managers like Rohl who can get bang average players to play several tactical formations. We are at a crossroad to try and make this club great again but I’m guessing new naive tactical owners will tie Wider down (with little effort) to a long term contract thinking he’s a great manager and condemn us to being a bang average championship club.Brewster played well overall and tried hard.

We have to wait until the end of the transfer window to get a better picture on it. Whoever had the final decision during the summer did well. Cooper, Burrows, Souttar. I looked him up after watching his highlights against Chelsea where he looked a real handful. His record was quite underwhelming prior to the transfer though. Not sure what the clubs he was on loan at thought of him but it was a brave move by Ipswich.Heard during the Ipswich game tonight that they paid 20mill for Delap. Looks a bargain to me. Brewdog couldn’t clean his boots.
