Just had a look and Southampton signed him for £7M on a four year deal, what a waste of money that’s been already for them. They’re going to want some of that back so I can only see it being a loan deal at best because of this. Be a fantastic addition either way.

He's easy worth £7m. Pay it in full or these new guys are clowns.

Anel is also pretty useful at carrying the ball out which draws a midfielder into closing him down creating space for others. We need to exploit that more given our lack of attacking options in central midfield.
a very good point we have to start moving the ball forward in to midfield quicker but its no coincidence this has happened more since arblaster and souza have been out of the side get souza back move hamer in there when bbd returns and sign another quality championship midfielder no disrespect to peck and davies who have filled in very well but they both really should be coming on off the bench

Again, mate I don’t disagree, I think he’s worth it too but i don’t think that will be the fee anyway, it will be less which will be even less at the end of the season, which is my point of loan him until the end then reevaluate and get him for a bargain.

If he does well though, yet for whatever reason we don't go up, he'll be off in those circumstances.

First thing's first, we have to secure promotion! Then of course there's overall team strengthening to consider,
so much to consider, and who knows whether Wilder will still be in charge?

Don’t see us spunking any big fees out in January, especially numbers in excess of £2-3m on a single player.
BBD will be a loan at best. Maybe the kid at Preston could be picked up for a low initial fee given his contractual situation with a higher balance subject to promotion.

It's been noticeable how little we go through the middle without Souza and Arblaster playing.

Peck n Davies can't carry the ball like either so our CBs have been forced to go wide which enables the opposition to press us more effectively.
Anel carrying it out from the back is the closest we've had to Arblaster or Souza playing.

Step up Choudry.

If we don’t get any replacements in for Blaster we may see a change in how we play with Peck dropping deep into the central area to get the ball from the CBs and encouraging the CB forward into the flanks.
Putting Hamer central with Davies and having them push on to support the forwards may be a more attacking edge when in possession and then dropping into a flat three out.
4-3-3

BBD. Moore O/Hare
Davies- Peck- Hamer

4-1-3-2

Moore BBD
Hamer Davies O’Hare
Peck

We would need full backs to give width with Hamer and OHare drifting out there too.

Have we signed BBD or have I missed that announcement?

Loan to buy I've heard.
If true then it’s a waste of a loan in my view.
If he’s available to buy we should have pushed the boat out with the new owners coming in.

Hopefully it means we’re spending on perms elsewhere so it’s not necessarily to keep loan spots free.

Who are these people Wizadry and how would they know?
People get to find things out mate, one or two on here who I’ve never met before who I wouldn’t disbelieve, they don’t talk bollocks, it might still end up complete bollocks but I believe the people I’ve heard it off anyway.

A waste of a loan?? Are you mad??
Prem quality LW, that were crying out for, if he gets us up we buy with monies earned, if we don't go up, we dont have the massive wage round our neck.... win win surely??

Yeah, because if he wants to join and Southampton want to sell then it's a waste when we could do perm.
We only have 3 spare loan spots in the squad and we need quality in 4-5 areas, so if you have the opportunity to plug one of those gaps with a perm you can afford you do it.
BBD may be a huge wage, but that's up for negotiation, and he would be an asset next season if we don't get up this time. I'm also not too concerned around his wages as the sales in the summer that we'd be forced to make would provide us some wriggle room. If we don't go up this season I think you could quite likely see Cooper, Anel, Souza, Hamer and potentially Blaster all leaving the club freeing up plenty of space in the wage bill for a 15 goal a season forward like BBD.

I'd also like us to buy at around 7m if we can. Value for money. He's a perfect fit at United, and an asset in either division. But at championship level he's one who gets you promoted

We have players to sell in the summer to fund it if need be, Hamer and Onè for a start

almost as if producing the credible source would result in the credible source never telling them owt again...

Why not? That argument doesn’t stack up. If the credible source is not so credible then they shouldn’t be running their mouth.

Sigh
Nope
We can have (nearly) infinite loans - ‘only’ 5 in any match day 18

How do you know "we can afford" him??
Do you know the budget??, if so, please tell all!
If not, hes an awesome loan, and maybe.....and I'm just putting this out there......we might be able to afford cheaper quality players in different positions with the budget????, player coming to the end of their contracts for example..... I mean, its only a wild idea, but Wilder does seem pretty good with a tight budget..... just saying, Tom Davies, Anel, Cooper, Burrows, Moore, OHare, just a couple of examples that didn't cost £7m+...
