Brewster

Brownhill has been brilliant for Burnely. Brewster, the 7m pound earner, needs to fuck off. I have absolutely no sympathy for a multi multi million pound player who’s never known how hard life can be. Awwwww he missed a chance. He never puts a fucking tackle in, never really tries. He’s garbage. Wilder will get sacked if he keeps playing him.

It's be rinse and repeat, at far too great an expense. Far too injury prone, and just not good enough at this level.
When a player comes on as a sub against a tiring defence, that have run for 80 minutes the least I would expect is go all out effort and be noticed in a good way.

Until now his uselessness has actually been quite harmless in terms of what has happened on the pitch and my frustration has manifested in the fact we bought a £20m paperweight.

He had a glorious chance to get us two really important points yesterday and fluffed his lines.

I can see why frustration is turning to anger with him, which is a shame, but inevitable. He has been the worst signing in club history and I think he will be playing league one at the very best next season.

Is that his 2nd or 3rd shot that's gone out for a throw in.. I'm starting to lose count I'm afraid.

As for his 2nd chance if he simply taps it back to Moore it's a certain goal

Hate Brewster, he’s a cancer at this club, the sooner he stops stealing wages from this club, the better.

Name me a worse signing in our history (when you take into account the t’fer fee and wages)?

He doesn’t give a sh*t about Blades.
What a horrible comment.

Do you think he wanted to be injured? When we signed him he was one of Englands hottest up and coming players, we were all excited.

Injuries have ruined him. I know a few lads that know him and say you couldn’t meet a nicer person. I’m not sticking up for his footballing ability I’m 99% sure he’ll be released in July. But the rest of your comments are just utter rubbish.

It’s fans like you that are the problem with this club

The main issue with Brewster is the fee we paid.

If we'd signed him on a free from Rochdale he'd never get a game and there wouldn't be all this bile aimed at him because nobody would care much.
If we’d signed him on a free from Rochdale he’d have been out on loan in January 2021 and released in June 2021.

People care because of the gigantic hole his signing made in our finances.

Best part of the game for me was when Brewster won a defensive header in our box and a bloke behind me shouted - "come on Brewster for fuck sake".

It's football tourettes at this stage

100%. You can hear the expectation rise at the match when he comes on, and the eagerness to criticise every touch. It’s an odd phenomenon.

He played poorly yesterday, here’s no getting away from that, but he also had a go, which is what we need when Moore, Hamer etc aren’t doing much.

It looked like he’d been brought on to play left of the midfield three also, he seemed to be defending down the left more than going forward from my view in BLUT.

He needs consistency for me, but I doubt he’ll get that, especially in the same position, but even if that happens my expectation is to get some form out of him as a team contributor, not as a goal scorer (if that makes sense).

The problem is, they are blaming the wrong man. Never played as a striker yet ohare was practically playing as one yesterday. Could have put ohare left, hamer middle and put Brewster up with moore. We seem to be creating problems fitting players like ohare and hamer jnto any system and then letting Brewster plug any gaps when needed. I think he scored in his only start as a striker in a few years

If you can't see what Moore and Hamer offer the team in comparison to Brewster you should watch another sport pal

Brewster is very consistent, consistently shocking. Time to give the youth team lads a run rather than waste anymore time on him

Have you seen Brewster's shooting, his movement to create space as a forward and his finishing... It's all appalling, it's like he's never played that position in his life... I'd genuinely rather bring a sub goalkeeper on up front

Not two sure about that mate .He too had a great chance that went out for a throw in while just 6 yards out . Our strike force in general is piss weak ,maybe Campbell is showing signs of a decent striker but is injury prone . One is not ready maybe we could give Marsh a try but we are generally well short of a top quality striker to put chances away.

The best thing for Brewster would be to go out on loan to a lower level club and prove he can still score goals. Four and a half years of injuries and failure at BL. has made the vast majority of the fans sceptical about his ability and rightly so. Our injury list will probably keep him at BL until his contract has expired. I would be amazed if that contract is renewed.

It doesn’t matter where Brewster plays because he is simply not good enough

I’ve always said he will be in League One when we release him.

I have now changed my mind because he will only just make the grade in League Two or even non league football now

Biggest waste of money in the history of our club

Genuinely don't think he'd score goals in the National league. He can't kick a ball straight. He has 50p feet. And quite possibly cataracts. He'll end up at Matlock town.

My experience of actual matches is that Brewster gets support from the fans in general. In fact I'd be confident in saying that I bet he feels grateful for the support he gets where it matters.

The comments on here aren't in line with the reaction he gets at games.

This is a depressing thread, which befits poor Rhian's time at the club, and no doubt his own feelings too (an assumption). What surprises me, is that for all the vitriol on here, thankfully, I've never heard the crowd turn on him, which is odd given the overwhelming feelings articulated on this site. When I remember the abuse the likes of Booker, Gannon, Long, etc. received from fans at games, it's odd that RB has never suffered similar. Which is good imo, no point getting on your own players' backs unless it's lack of effort. But in this instance it seems a contradiction? Even this season the moans & groans about Moore have been more noticeable than ones directed at Brewster. Also, the genuine shared delight for the lad when he scored at Millwall, and at the end of the match was touching. For all that has been written on here, I sense a connection between the fans and him?
Agree , no one has turned against him .

Perhaps because there is genuine goodwill towards him as we all anticipate seeing what we paid our money for . Perhaps this time? - no 🫤- perhaps this time then ?- no 🫤- rinse and repeat , rinse and repeat etc .

Every time he gets an opportunity, apart from 60/70 mins at Wolves last season , for one reason or another - he is very underwhelming (and I’m being kind here) . So frustration grows and manifests itself with many people giving up on him - very little vitriol and anger shown towards him ,but people nevertheless , giving up - and who can blame them.

For the price we paid and the return we’ve had he is beyond doubt imo the worst value for money buy we have made . Not his fault, we decided to pay what we did , and I’m sure he’s frustrated as hell too - but , regardless, he’s been rubbish tbh .

I get why people stand up for him because he’s a nice 👌 lad ? Even though he acted like a bellend when he disrespected our neighbours having achieved no credibility himself to do so .

Hope he goes on to have a good career……actually, thinking about it - do I ?

I couldn’t give a toss - either he steps up or is offloaded asap
