There's loads of money in football. I'd much rather the players get it than the owners keep it. Even the worst pros have given their lives to get to earn a living from football. Good on them

Worse player ...John Ebbrell paid £1m
He played half a game and never played again due to an injury he had when he signed.

It doesn't compare (as badly) to the Brewster deal, for me. Easily the worst business we've ever done, and will sadly be remembered forever for it.

The John Ebbrell deal proved terrible, don't get me wrong.

The fee doesn't really matter apart from the deducted points stuff. The ongoing wage and inability to use that on better players has been frustrating.

He seems a decent bloke but he's just not good enough for the top of the Championship. GLTTL when he moves on and I'll be interested to see where he ends up.

Let's get 1 thing straight for the hard of thinking ...I'm not blaming Brewster...
I DONT FEEL SORRY FOR HIM WAS MY REPLY TO SOMEONE WHO SAID THEY FELT SORRY FOR HIM .
Let's get another thing straight im not a minion, I'm quite pleased with my lot .
I've served my country ,and now for the last 20 years I've had a job as a field engineer for a company who have always appreciated me and treats me with respect .
Finally would I move to a competitor for double ya money ? Naturally I would , I'm not getting any younger.
I like Brewster I wanted him to be a success, unfortunately it ain't going to happen while he's got a hole in his butt
Anyone who thinks different fair enough,time will tell i guess 🙄
 
It really is a shame for Brewster, but he wont be offered another contract at the club, based on whats he's done/not done, its a no brainer and the comment is not made by any form of hatred, why would it be, its just not worked for him or the club, end of! Lets please move on and spend the money on someone else, please!

Finally had enough of this lad today.

We’ve spent the last 3 and a half years waiting for him to have a run injury free and finally come good.

Well he has had a run of being largely injury free and plenty of minutes and the last couple of games he has been absolutely fucking woeful.

The sooner we stop pussyfooting around and accept he has been a shocking signing all round. I can’t blame Wilder either as everything pointed towards him becoming a very good player when we signed up and he took a gamble coming to us when he had the opportunity of staying at Liverpool or a choice of a number of Premier League clubs to go to.

Best thing we can do is write off all the money we’ve thrown at him, release him on a free and move on, and let him have a fresh start too.
 
Players in the past such as Hammond, Woolford, Long, etc have had pelters from the same fans who are now defending Brewster to the hilt, a player who cost far more and has been at the club a lot longer than those mentioned. Did fans say it wasn’t fair to criticise Hammond as he didn’t ask to be signed for x amount? And he was only at the club 6 months!
The only thing I can think is that Brewster was very much a Chris Wilder signing and one he’s reluctant to admit he got wrong and there’s a section of fans who can see no wrong when it comes to Chris Wilder and refuse to admit that the man has made mistakes. I wonder if Brewster had been signed by Adkin’s or Slav whether they would be so forgiving.
 
I feel very sorry for Marsh, who must look at Brewster and want absolutely nothing to do with this club.

I'm sure we are gutted it ain't worked , he was our record signing...We all held high hopes ....
Its an absolute shame for the lad as he does come across as top fella.
He's probably going to drop down to lge 1 and try and resurrect his career.
I'm sure we will all wish him well .
I do anyway.

Maybe. I’d seen it bandied around that he was on £50k on joining too. It is a weird one, the club gets castigated for being cheap but at the same time for wasting money on whomever is deemed to be the bigger earners.

A lot of truth in this. He's been a huge disappointment as a player for a number of reasons but people lose their shit on here. It's a bit pathetic
 

I think all the Brewster haters, should spend a day in a sauna with the lad, and get it out of your systems.....
