Wonder if Des Taylor & the gang actually do know what they're on about.
Strange one, you'd honestly be happy with parker to do a rebuild at this magnitude? He flatters to deceive.

Fell lucky to be employed by Fulham with one of best squads in championship, then he gets Bournemouth job with again a fantastic squad for the chamionship and now he's fell on Burnley who have kept nearly all their premier league young squad adding a strong striker back from loan.

Don't rate him.

Absolutely. Said this yesterday. He'd have given Norwood and Sharp new contracts and they'd have been on after 60mins to dry the game up whilst restricting the development/game time of Peck and Marsh etc who we'd ultimately lose when they refused to sign new deals and the cycle would continue...
Really good point about young uns, we would have won, but at the cost of the future?

Maybe we should acknowledge this and get off wilders case a bit (me included) or is that just his job, to blood youngsters and win games?

Thinking as I’m typing, 2-0 up, against 10men mid-table QPR yes it is his ‘kin job😂

2-1 up against 10 not as bad as 2-0

It depends on your mgt philosophy. After they scored to make it 2-1, do you want old heads to 'manage the game' or young, fresh legs to inject some energy. I'd argue the latter every time. We saw in the PL, big sides now have X2 teams of players and invariably make the full use of the 5 subs and means going in to the last 20mins they can still press and move the ball at pace...

Yesterday our press stopped after 40 mins and we stopped moving the ball quickly around the same time. 5 sets of fresh legs on, means we can keep that going...

After the defeat to Burnley it made me think have we ever beaten one of his sides? He's always managed strong sides mind.

I think at Preston etc he'd be bang average.

I think that’s a little bit unfair, they were one of the most organised sides I’ve seen & tactically impressive the way they pressed & switched play quickly.

I've stuck up for Parker when some of our fans said in the summer that he was poor when we were linked with him if the new board changed manager, but I don't think his career can be judged easily until he manages a club with a budget why he has yet to do. Burnley should be way ahead of us with their squad to ours in my view but they're not.

They've had a lot of injuries to contend with in the first half of the season and they're starting to get back towards full strength and hitting their stride.

Meanwhile, we're on the back of a loss, in the middle of a tough run of fixtures and injuries starting to rack up.

We've done exceptionally well to be where we are, but I wouldn't be shocked to see Burnley and Leeds begin to pull away now with their superior experience and squad depth.
Parker, as much as he's not given any credit on here, has been promoted with decent squads before. That experience will count for something.

It surprises me how so many will acknowledge that Burnley are so well organised and yet not give their manager any of that credit.
They have by far the best defence in the league and have just come to Bramall Lane and given us nothing. Out of possession they were by far the best I've seen this season.

Drawn too many games haven’t they. Losing 2 games in 23 is good going. I think it’ll take another record high points to be in the top 2 this season. It’s a shame we started behind everyone on -2.

If you look at the playoffs Burnley, Us and Leeds are miles ahead of Blackburn, Watford, West Brom, Wednesday in terms of quality. We just need to add depth

I see comments on here saying we were the better team first half and shake my head. Parker came here with the intention of not letting us score. They schooled us first half. We hardly created anything and looked vulnerable to their width on the counter.

We've been picking up points because we're extremely well organised (credit to Wilder etc) and consistent. So are Burney (credit to Parker) and they have a stronger squad.

I also like how calm he is on the sidelines. His quiet confidence must rub off on the players.

Schooled us ?

Tactically he got it right. His interview highlighted the fact that we can be predictable.

It’s much easier to look like a tactical genius with a better team. If he takes them up, no question he’ll have done well and deserve credit. But that is the expectation based on their resources. Similar to Farke.

I think he’s a perfectly serviceable manager with experience of doing exactly what’s attempting now. Taking a strong squad up with cautious football.

Still to get the job done in the Prem. Like many others, given a budget, he’ll get you promoted but found wanting when he gets there

I'd like to see Parker actually build a squad from scratch, to me he seems to walk into jobs that have most of the tools ready and waiting for him. Has he ever managed a poor team?
He's had a lot of building to do this season, albeit he has had money to spend. But 14 regular first team players or subs left in summer, and 5 more of last year's squad have been injured for all or most of this season; 14 new signings this summer. Of the 12 players who have started 10 or more games this season, only 5 had started that 10 or more in their Burnley careers to date.

It's a big squad, but it needs to be!

Let's have a look what Wilder was left with in the summer. Of the keepers only 2nd keeper Davies is still with us, defenders only Robinson, Anel Ahmedhodzic are left along with Norrington Davis coming back from a long injury. Midfielders left from last season Hamer, Souza along with Tom Davies just back from long term injury. Up front we were left with Brewster just recovering from long term injury. So not a lot to work with, We have made some signings, a few loans, a few on free transfers, the rest of the squad is made up of lads in their first full season of first team football learning on the job. That is where we are at the moment it is remarkable Wilder has got us where we are with what he has to pick from. He started with less than half a dozen 1st team players and a very limited budget due to the sale of the club, I think Scott Parker would be running for the hills in the same situation.

He is not a tactical genius at all. We have some stuff to work on despite defending well this season. Souza has been the key factor as his positional sense and pace have broken up many attacks. We attack with full backs pushing on that gets exposed if souza is not there. He is hampered with hamstring trouble and should have remained on the sideline for another week or so.

We are predictable now we've lost all pace
Arblaster picking the ball up from deep
No ahmehodzic breaking the lines
Moore not fully fit
No souza
Still wouldn't say they schooled us
Agreed I was just making the point that he got it tactically right on the day.
