I thought he was OK
Don't understand the vitriol towards him
Again feels like a bit of a pile on

Hamer was again levels worse than anyone on the pitch, especially fitness wise but that's OK

If Hamer had been here five seasons and done fuck all, he'd be getting both barrels.

Make no mistake.

See the difference yet?

As it stands, Hamer is probably the best player at the club.

And yes, Hamer was crap yesterday and has been underwhelming this season.

But Hamer is still well in credit, Brewster isn't.

The vitriol used on here by some posters towards Brewster is appalling.

Yes, have an opinion on one of our players and make comments (it is a forum for discussion after all) on why you think he shouldn’t be in a Blades shirt but, fuck me some comments are way over the top.

For what it’s worth I’m in the “he’s not good enough at this level” camp and he’s been given plenty of chances which he hasn’t taken.

Also injuries have hampered his career so not a lot anyone could do about that.

While ever he is being picked by Wilder, then he needs fans support whether his performances are good enough or not.

UTB.

How can you say Hamer has been underwhelming this season, when he has 5 goals and 5 assists, and he's not even playing in his favoured position!

I'm not sure we can say Hamer has been underwhelming this season when he has 5 goals and 5 assists and he's not even playing in his favoured position!

His stats are half decent but I still expect a lot more from him because he's a quality player.

He'd walk into any team in this league, including Leeds and Burnley.

A lot of questions have been asked about why we keep playing him in a position where he's wasted and I think that's valid.

It's not Brewster's fault he was picked to play in a position where he inexplicably expected to thread precision passes through, which clearly isn't his forte. It should have been O'Shea or Hamer doing that job. And probably to him and Moore doesn't really have the pace.

I think its simply due to the Prince not funding Wilder to get a proper left sided player. I'd be surprised to see Hamer still playing on the left side after the JTW.

And to get this thread back on topic, I'd be gutted to see Brewster getting anywhere near as much game time after the JTW as it would mean we had a very poor JTW.

I think Hamer has been a victim of his own ability by being forced to float about on that left hand side just because he can do it better than anyone else.

He could still be used better elsewhere.

Oh I see the difference alight
One is the scapegoat for all the clubs travails and one is indulged

You can see he doesn't like playing out there. Hence all the bookings. He needs to be at the heart of things.

Hilarious

Criticise Brewster = Punching down, bullying, singling out blah blah blah

Criticise Hamer = Fair game 👍🏼

Hamer is a quality football player who could still carve out a career in the Premier League.

Nice lad Rhian will be lucky to float about in League One for a few seasons.

Frank the Plank loves a double standard

I agree mate ,I dont dislike Brewster i think he is a decent kid but he has been here 4 years now and he has done f--k all .How much longer do we have to wait before he starts putting in some performances . Ever player will have a bad day now and again but we are waiting for him to have a goodun . 4 years now and not a match where he has lit it up .

Agree Frank in that Hamer was really poor , but he has contributed much more in a season and half than Brewster has done in four and a half .

People are frustrated with Brewster , he was nothing more than very ordinary yesterday - at best and will more than likely continue to be very ordinary until we off load him

Every time we lose it's Brewsters fault
I offer hamer as a comparison
I don't go on the forum looking to unload on a player who has had for the majority of his time been injured, I feel sorry for the lad
Guess that's the difference between you and me and I feel sorry for you that you can't make the distinction

Context is everything
I like hamer even though he frustrates the life out of me. I just think he could offer so much more on occasion
Going in on brewester after a defeat Is like kicking a puppy or setting fire to a tramp

The lad is being picked because we have no choice and at leadt he's trying, that's good enough for me

Hopefully we will get better players in and he will be at best a bit part player

Every time we lose it's Brewsters fault

No it's not.

That is your preconceived notion that you're projecting onto any criticism of Rhian Brewster.

I haven't seen one single person blame any defeat ever on Brewster.

And why would they?

It wasn't Brewster's fault that we lost against Leeds, Middlesbrough or Burnley.

He's just a football player who landed a big contract who isn't good enough to play for Sheffield United.

It's never been his fault that we've lost any game.

He's not even been the worst signing in the club's history that can use injuries as an excuse. Ebbrell was worse.
Ebbrill, cost £1million & lasted 45 mins, was never seen again. Brewster allegedly £23 million, don't know how it works out over the years financially, but both have been a disaster!!

If you don’t hate him then you must believe he has been a huge success and therefore know nothing about football.

No middle ground on here.

Then why pile in on him every time we lose and he played ?

He was far from our worse player
