I know this has been spoke about a lot so probably shouldn’t of created a thread about it but i want to get my point across.

Burrows, Robbo, Gilchrist, Seriki

Is a good defence!

When we got promoted in 2022/2023, we had a back 2 of Robbo and Egan and got promoted. Gilchrist in my opinion is a better defender than Egan and Seriki is better than what Bogle showed for us in the Championship. So we will be absolutely fine. Robbo is actually a great defender, yes he makes mistakes but he’s defensively sound and takes no shit.

Don’t be surprised if we keep another clean sheet today. The 1 only issue we have is height in todays game, that is it.

They have taller players than us. Gilchrist is our tallest defender at 6”0. Souza in midfield being 6”2. Furlong has a great long throw in which they’ll be looking to exploit today even more.
 
Owt can happen today. Gales and heavy rain points to freak goals and defensive cock ups , so expect the unexpected.
Lets go for 4.3 to Blades.

Interesting to see if Robinson takes long throws as I can’t see what the point would be with the size of our team

Most teams would be taller than today's team. Losing Soutter, Anel and Moore, our tallest players, is a blow.
My point was WBA are not like previous lineups, it will be interesting to see their tactics

I think you’re remembering the WBA team under Ismael when they battered us at theirs with long throws. They don’t play like that anymore- under Corberan it’s possession based boredom!

Burrows beaten nearly every time, but produced two great crosses for the goals. That was a defence doing the best job it could, but clearly lacking height and experience.

Seriki beaten over and over again too. I thought we were abject defensively for long stretches today. Very glad we have players back on Tuesday.

Both good going forward but not defending. Better suited to a wing back role ?

The full backs aren't doing their jobs
They are stopping maybe one out of ten crosses and by law of averages you will Conceed
Every team is just going to go. Down the wings on us now as its an area of weakness
It's happened the last few games
From Coventry onward where they must have hit about 30 crosses in the box unchallenged
 
West Brom identified defending crosses as a weakness and went for it first half especially. But all things considered, the lads did ok today.

A fully rested Souttar and Anel back just in time though. Millwall have some giants and that cunt Jake Cooper always seems to score against us. Souttar needs to put him back in his box.

Cooper is Injured
They played Ryan Leonard at centre back Saturday
 
The bit I saw, granted only the first 20 mins…we were getting beaten far too much out wide and didn’t stop their crosses.
Not such a problem for f they’re in the air with Anel and Souttar but a problem that kept happening.
I’m pleased with that point given the defence we started today.
 
First half WBA seemed as though they were targeting serikis side and he was struggling but after we scored to lead either seriki stepped it up or they forgot the plan, 2nd half it thought seriki played better, although he was out of position a few times with gilchrist mopping up behind him, we really needed to stop crosses coming in today but didn't really
