1960-61 season, sold right-winger Kevin Lewis in the summer, didn’t get a replacement (sounds familiar?). Various replacements were tried, but the most successful was reserve-left back Cliff Mason, who for reasons nobody understood was quite successful and helped keep our promotion hopes and Cup run going until the spring, when Len Allchurch was signed, and he hit the ground running and scored vital goals which helped seal promotion.
