Anyone care to disagree? Just can't see Cloughy turning this around. The players don't give a shit.

We got a point against one of the best footballing teams in the division, I cant see us going down but what I would do is send Coady back and get an actual winger and send Lappin back. If Lappin is better than our left wingers then they all want getting rid of as well

Crap again tonight. Hill did well, Porter was ok, Taylor did better than Miller when he came on - rest were useless. No quality and no desire. Will struggle to stay up. Need to bring in some quality in Jan and clear out in the summer.

We need an almost entire new midfield plus someone who is going to score 15 + goals between January and the end of the season or we are are going to struggle to stay up.

Two corners at the death chasing a win and we can't beat the first man, sums up the desire and heart that we're missing.

We need a player like their number 6, I hope mrs Doyle was watching him, covering a lot of the pitch, picking the ball up, winning tackles and passing the ball to his own players. Man of the match

Nicky Featherstone had a great game against us last season as well.

What's your problem with those two? Coady was out of position but has shown he has talent and the same can be said for Lappin, both reasonable players in my eyes and that's the most we can hope for.

I think that's a bit harsh. McGinn's delivery is usually excellent and as a young player the pressure got to him and he was clearly annoyed with himself.

Altering the squad too much has got us here so doing it further won't help. Some need to leave (looks like Westlake and Williams are :)) but incomings aren't necessarily needed in abundance. I thought the defence and strikers were good, bar White who looked a little shaky at times. Don't think any did enough to be described as useless. They weren't good, but they weren't useless.

You talk about the players like they are 5 year olds playing their first ever game. They are well paid professionals and it's reasonable to expect them to be able to do the basics. Too many times this season the players have fallen well short of what is needed and expected at SUFC.

clough cant really apply real change till he can change the squad can he , you can only polish a turd so much , at least hes getting points with the shite

It's true they've fallen below expectations as a whole but if their's any brighter points McGinn's one of them. Their pay makes no difference, he didn't intentionally mishit it so he could get in his posh car as opposed to wasting time celebrating.

Walsall played all the football, but we were solid without the ball and that's what Clough is trying to achieve in the short term. I don't blame him for doing this.

I'd like to see Taylor given longer on the wing as in the last couple of games he's beat his man and crossed the the ball. No one else at the club has done that this season.

I wouldn't mind a similar system to Villa, with Porter, Miller, Taylor instead of Benteke, Weimann, Abonglahor. Murphy and Brandy could also fit into that, as could Baxter among others.

It's ok saying we are trying to be solid and steady the ship but for the attacking is the first form of defending. Get the ball up in their half of the pitch and play football and you ain't to concede. Dilly dallying around in our own box gives the opposition a bit of confidence to push on and play round us as we have seen.

We have improved but we are still a very narrow, defensively minded team at the minute and in the long term that worries me slightly. Not to the extent that I think we are in trouble of relegation but if we are going to call this season off as a rebuilding season then that is what we need to look at doing ASAP. Let's not be hasty and sign for the sake of it but let's utilize this season to get things right before next season.

I agree. McGinn did it 4 or 5 times. Sick of excuses from these very well paid set of players. They are proving they are not good enough. I wager Walsall wage bill is around 2 or 3 times less than ours and yet they have better players and ones that have desire too.

I particularly thought the Chuckle Brothers (too me ....to you) on our left wing, aka White and Lappin, provided real comedy value, not seen since the good old days of Jordan Stewart. Problem is these guys are actually paid to be professional footballers not comedians. Send these clowns back tomorrow (and Coady can drive the funny little car). Utter shite.

Really don't think we are in trouble of relegation?

I think we are in a real dog fight and it will go to the wire. We are a shocking side.

Our current form is on par with most of the teams in the middle of the table. This league isn't like the Championship thankfully! A good few teams are hit and miss and eventually I feel we will hit a bit of form, hopefully sooner rather than later. A couple of good wins still puts us mid tabled again.

Christmas is the telling bit but as things stand I have seen enough in us to stay up and I am not worried at the minute.

This isn't a dig at Nigel Clough at all, far from it, neither is it a dig at David Weir. However the only difference between the Weir and Clough sides, are one played a 4-2-3-1, and the other plays 4-4-2. Performances have still remained poor.

as could Baxter among others.

Really? I'm not sure what Baxter can realistically do in any system. Other than waddle about that is.

Trouble is, this is a genuine relegation fight. It's all about this season unless We can conjure a run of wins before January.

I really like him as a player and would be one of the first names on the sheet. I know he didn't mean to do take a crap corner, but these are basics, from a dead ball.

We look a lot more solid in defense today, shame White got beaten for the goal, one mistake as cost us today.
We should have had all 3 points again today, I can't see us going down.
Its not easy getting away from the relegation zone but we know if we can string some good results we will eventually move out of it.
At least its not defeat after defeat under Clough, we are picking up points.

That's the thing; I cant see more than the odd win in say 4 or 5 games and see us losing lot more games due to poor defence, no creavity and complete lack of goals. ore than that its the lack of fight and urgency all over the field. We wont get anything Saturday and then we could be 4 or 5 points off being out of the relegation zone and the pressure starts to ramp up. I see no fight or backbone in this side to suggest if we are in and around the bottom 4 we would fight our way out of trouble. If we are around here come Easter then I would be very worried.

You may be right there but it's worth a shot. I'm sick of the constant worshipping of 4-4-2

I don't think we'll go down but I can't see us getting higher than 15th an even that's gonna be a struggle..

Heard a few comments about our crowd but I see Wolves also got under 15k and they are top! Doubt Wolves could match our current crowds if they were in our position. If only we had a team to match our crowds.

Tonight wasn't about lack of desire or fight, butyour posts are.

4-4-2 = Players are shit. Terrible side. How can this be Nigel Cloughs fault.

4-2-3-1 = Manager is shit. We have good players but they can't play in this formation. David Weir has no clue.

Reality = Both managers had/have shit players. But what is more disheartening then ever is not the fact the players are shit, but the fact the players couldn't really give a toss.

The thing is although we have picked up 4pts in the last two games (we would all have taken that in a flash) most of the teams around us have also picked up points recently. I think it will take much more than a few wins to put this season to rights, as DB says we are in a dog fight and are a very poor side with not much fight in us. We need to go on a sustained run of picking up points to get away from the bottom four spots can anyone realistically see this shower of shite putting a good run together ?

Thought not !
