That’s all fine but why take aim at the player instead of the situation? All this does is give other players a glimpse into Wilders press attitude towards them.

He needs some media training asap if he’s sticking around long term, as he seems to have little concern of the effect of his words on the squad / club.
I agree with his behaviour, similar to commenting on Josh Sergant the other day... not needed.

However I think he's clearly wound tight at the moment, obviously had Anel pushing for a move on Saturday and Slim last night.

His attitude doesn't give the impression that we are in for players like Billing for sure

I'm not against this lad moving on, if it frees us wages and funds elsewhere. It still isn't clear what his preferred role is - CM, CAM or out wide and he's not made an impact in any of those. Bringing in a replacement who's role is clear, would be better.

But, as has been said elsewhere, it's squad depth we need - we can't continue with one out, one in.
Agree with all of your first paragraph. I see quality as a bigger issue than depth though. I would be happy with a new striker and improving the squad through one in out for the likes of Slimane, Coulibaly and maybe one or two others.

And that attitude won’t help players to come either unfortunately. He’s obviously been instrumental in selling the club to new signings but it’s like once their through the door he reverts to type.

A bit OTT. He’s entitled to not risk injury if he’s got a move in the pipeline and doesn’t wish to jeopardise it.

I suppose from Chris’ point of view Anis and his agent could probably have made it known he wasn’t going to play prior to 430pm on the day of the match when he was down to start.

Still doing a good job of continuing the Uno Reverse on a lot of last year’s inadequate recruitment!
He wasn't prepared to play but will be prepared to pick his weekly wage up though .

We don't know all the ins and outs though and one thing Wilder commands is desire and commitment to play for the club. He didn't go into detail. It's refreshing in a way that we have a manager who demands this because it means we end up with a squad who come here for the right reasons.
Fair. I do like that he holds our player to the same standards that fans generally demand. It’s a balance / double edged sword and you’re right we don’t know the ins and outs. I just think sometimes his ego puts him on the wrong side of the line.

One day when his book comes out (a la Colin) the truth will out. I think 2 lists Des Taylor has had a lot to do with the recruitment and that might come back and bite us in the bum later this season.

Wilders ideal players are grafters that can put in a shift but not many clubs are stuck in that culture, he’s a dying breed.

On paper now is not the time to change the manger. However, more of the disorganised inept football we are being served up this season could do the clubs reputation to bounce back as a serious contender irreparable damage. With the players we’ve got we should be playing much better not blaming them for going off plan this early in the season.

If we want to attract permanent players like Billing and keep players like Hamer then medium term Wilder is not the man, he’s certainly not the man above this level.

Wilder sounding weirdly passionate on this one. Seems to have been a bit of a fallout.

I thought he'd welcome moving Slimane on. He can hardly blame him for not wanting to be a bit-part player here and he's hardly had the best of times since arriving.

It comes across like Wilder has just got off his chest what he wants to say about Anel and Souza but hid it behind Slimane - because he's a far less expensive asset and it's less consequential

Love wilder but really don’t like this side of him. Whatever has gone on, why not just keep it in house? Or at least until the deal is done and the dust is settled. Something has obviously gone off but two sides to every story and it’s not like Anis can call up football heaven to give his side.
I completely agree with this, I've no time for clichéd, passive aggressive bullshit of this sort

"We want players who want to play for that shirt and want to be part of it so read in to that what you think. If we do lose him we'll replace him with someone who wants to be here".

For me, you either say something or you say nothing at all. If he'd gone

"Kinell, I can't believe someone wants to sign the slow, fat f* Pissing mesen I am, I don't know what they were thinking when they signed him- good old Norwich eh, daft bastards, he's the most Norwich signing ever! Waaaaay, off you f* fat lad and hopefully I'll sign a footballer wi' that, adifuckinos"

I could respect that.

Might make sense with the Danish link

The Norwich podcast bloke after their cup game last night said they were signing Annis Slimane
and said he saw their manager and Slimane having a long chat after their match with us on Saturday.

He also said their manager knows him well from their mutual Danish background.....so altho Norwich fans haven't a clue regards whether Slimane is any good....they should trust their managers judgement on this.

Pretty much all managers need to be careful what they say unless they've got the balls and the backing from the club to be a bit more forward and I imagine very few managers have that. He can't slag them off too much because we want top cash for every player we sell and it doesn't help if your manager is publicly saying they're no good for you but reporters want a story and the fans want some Love Island drama to latch on to so reporters will keep asking questions knowing full well he's got to give a diplomatic response.

I miss the days of not knowing too much till it was announced in the paper or something because this constant 24 hour coverage of every tweet made by the club, the player or the players gardener is too long in the tooth for me to give a shit about it anymore.

I'm so tired of hearing whether Hamer is going to Leeds or not I'd just be glad the fuckin constant hysteria is going to stop.

Get him gone, done nothing of any note. People saying he never got a fair crack but at the end of the day, if he was any good, he'd have played every week.

Souza was a new signing last year and played every week, despite being crap so god only knows how bad Slimane must have been in training.

He had a full pre season with us under Hecky and apparently still wasn't fit, alarm bells rang then for me

Let him go, rather see Peck & Hampson get minute's instead of him anyway.

Zero upside for us in giving them an "option to buy" and having no recall option.
Strange bit of business, especially late in the window with a thin squad.

He'd have had plenty of minutes had he stuck around, but definitely not as a starter.
