Who are we likely to see/bump into this year? Where is everyone drinking? I'm not driving at all this year so I can enjoy the trip to London taking in a healthy amount of ale (probably for the best).

I know the other year we met a few of you in Tap East and I think that's where we'll be heading pre-match this year - We're certainly not going back to the Coach and Horses after our previous two visits :D.

Was thinking of going in King William IV, how do you plan on getting to the ground from Tap East?

If that's the pub I'm thinking it is (and hopefully one of Balham Blade, Ollessendro, BladeInThatcham and WalthamstowBlade can confirm that it is) I wouldn't recommend it. I had the most disgusting beer I've ever tasted from there and I don't think any of the others were too impressed either. I understand it had good reviews in the ale guide or something, but that wasn't my experience. Plus it was full of Wet Sham fans.

I was planning on giving this match a miss and doing the Hennessy meeting at Newbury instead, but after I missed the Bristol City game I am itching for some away day action so I will probably go and watch us get beat. If I do, I will likely start in Tap East as well; always been enjoyable in there.

Looks a possibility, there are four of us, two of us have oyster cards, will look into it when I have a little more time. Presumably plenty of parking round Stratford.

Westfield charge £8 for a full day parking. As for the rest of Stratford that is very limited. Lots of permit parking in the streets, there are other car parks but not sure what they charge.

£8 aint bad. I was going to suggest parking at Epping and getting the tube but that would probably be more expensive for four people. You can walk to Brisbane Road from Stratford.

Me and my mate from Southampton are gonna this one. Where's this Tap East place?

In the Westfield shopping centre at the far end from the tube station, next to Waitrose.

I was sceptical about a real ale boozer in a shopping centre but it's been done really quite well and it had some cracking beers on tap, including one Russian Imperial IPA at 7.5% which floored Ollessendro.

moDtheGod yes, that terrible pub which WalthamstowBlade took us to was the King Billy. I'd rather head straight to Walthamstow Village, from my patchy memory of the post game tour last year there are some lovely pubs there.

Funny old pub the Billy. Lovely old building, armpit of an area, its own ales which are hit or, in moDtheGod 's case, miss, but the only place I know with a Bar Billiards table.

Me and a fellow Blade will be traveling down from Peterborough and Kettering respectively. We'll be meeting up at superb The Parcel Yard at Kings Cross 11am before heading east. TapEast looks a decent bet so watch out for two ever so slightly tired and emotional chaps sometime after 12.

The salmon handcuffs are on for this one lads. :(

Might make drinking a bit difficult but I'm sure you'll cope. You need to get your lady to understand that you will sacrifice the occasional Saturday to frustration and drunkenness and the earlier in your relationship you can achieve that the better.

moDtheGod not yet, I'm a committed part timer and only have 2,100 loyalty points. You?

To be fair, my pint was decent but then I did ask for a taster of a couple of the ales first.

The brewery is called Brodie's which is based, I think, down on the Lea Bridge Road. They seem to specialise in booze of over 5 or 6%.

I agreed to go and meet her parents without checking what else I was doing on that weekend instead.

Doh!

Re King William IV, I went once before and was OK, I was drinking Brodie's Bitter, I thought the beer was brewed on the premises. Have to admit that East Tap and parking at westfield sounds tempting, though it is a long walk to the match.

I haven't bought a ticket yet, no. Don't want to get one and be sat on my Jack Jones.

It's about 15 minutes.

How far is the walk? Last year I got the fast train from St Pancras to Stratford but didn't have a clue how to get to Leyton on foot so took the tube

The trick is to come out of Westfield by that Tap East place (located in the food court near Waterstones) and go out the way the buses leave from Stratford City station north towards Walthamstow and Chingford. Basically you take Montfitchet Road to get out of Westfield and just boot it up the A112.

Googlemaps seems to give you some roundabout stroll through Wetlands. If Marsh Warblers are your thing...

Tap East sometime after 12. I'm in need of several pints already and we're only 4 hours into the working week.
