Like the striker situation, I'm not even going to mention the JTW in bringing in needed players for certain players..

It'll be Peck/Davies on rotation, with Shackleton chucked in when needed. Rightly or wrongly, I don;t think Wilder wants Hamer in there having to scrap about, he wants him further forward to provide the magic, I think a good loan in there wouldn't go a miss in Jan

Of those three options, I'd be very surprised if it was anyone other than Peck at this moment in time.

Davies might yet prove himself to be the man for that spot, but he would need to prove his fitness first.

Hamer is already having to play elsewhere. While we could move him to take Arblaster's position, all that achieves is us instead having to choose someone to take the LW position. And surprisingly, we have even less cover there than we do for the CMs. Brooks would be the most realistic, but he wouldn't be in keeping with the tactic of inverted wide players. Brewster is injured. Campbell is already playing elsewhere, as is Rak-Sakyi. Burrows could move forward, but that means playing McCallum or RND at left-back, which I'd reckon makes us more frail defensively compared to having Burrows at LB.

Shackleton would be an able deputy, and with Seriki being around, he is not quite so necessary to keep back as cover for Gilchrist.

This is a perfect demonstration of how badly our squad is lacking in depth at present, along with encapsulating how the rebuild we started in the summer is nowhere near finished. Hopefully Peck will thrive alongside Vini, but we need to be taking major care of all the squad right now. Seems like we're absolutely at the limit of what this squad can tolerate in terms of injuries.

I'd like to see Hamer playing there. He hasn't looked quite right playing on the left and I think we'd be better from an attacking perspective with more traditional wingers or wide forwards either side of the striker. But whatever it is that Wilder has done this season has worked so far and he's well within his rights to keep doing it. I think it'll be Peck and I'm quite happy with that.

Mainly it will be Peck, but if Davies comes back to form he is a good player so could be competition between them. As has already been said, it will be a collective that replace Arblaster.

I voted for all 3 as I think all 3 will play a part in it. Davies is still coming back from injury so won't short term, Peck is still young and we have seen his form fluctuate, Hamer is probably least favourite as don't want to lose his impact further forward...

I think this is a good call.
Probably end up being Peck mainly with Shackleton as back up.
Davis would be a shoe in for it really but I seriously doubt he will ever be fully fit for anything like a full season. I'd love him to be because potentially he's up there.

i agree with you there hamer and souza would be the best centre midfield partnership in the championship and i think hamer will improve being more involved in the play put o'hare on the left and play moore and campbell up front

I did say this was coming.
Players are not allowed to be outstanding for us and any that are get career ending or career altering injuries.
Souza next, mark my words

Yes the Peck / Davies works for me . IF we can get Davies back to something even close to his Everton best all is not lost . Going to miss blaster as much for his fuck you attitude. Sure Pecky will fill in for that lol 😂

Having mentioned so many options how can the squad be seen as “lacking depth”?

Hamer would be my choice. But all three are viable candidates. Peck has earned a chance with his performances so far, and Davies has a lot to prove, so he should be highly motivated.

Hamer and Peck on rotation, Hamer can play his ‘usual’ position when not in the middle. Davies won’t be fit for long enough to be a viable option.

Please keep Hamer on the left today. We know how good he is in the middle.

With such a small squad there is going to be some rotation.

For example, forgetting the back 4 and keeper, I’d say that Souza, Rak-Sayki and Hamer always play. In all likelihood, it will also take a bit of a shift for O’Hare to miss out too. I just don’t see his potential replacements, Brewster and Brooks doing enough to dislodge him.

So, a lot then depends on our very thin forward line.

Campbell is an interesting one. He could be used up front on his own. Not his best position, but probably needs must right now. He could be a 10 or he could be coming off the left.

If Moore is out and Brewster also, then all those other options are null and void.

The only realistic option for Coventry is Peck and Souza behind Rak-Sayki, Hamer and O’Hare.

Davies’ return falls nicely and him getting minutes at the end of games will help him and help preserve the others.

Once you have Moore back, then you have an additional problem. Do we just go 4-4-2 and play two strikers? Then you need to probably choose between Peck and O’Hare depending on where you’re going to play Hamer. Or same personnel with Campbell in from the left.

Does Brewster stake a claim. Could you have Brewster as a 10 and Campbell and Rak-Sayki? Not sure how they are without the ball but very attacking with it.

Once Davies does get minutes in, at some point he’ll be pushing. Carts only on paper, picking Souza, Davies, Hamer, O’Hare and Rak-Sayki looks an extremely dominant midfield if all are fit.

What we need are no more injuries for the next 9 games and then to acknowledge we are a player down and regardless of who is in charge, fix it. We can’t let Arblaster’s injury replicate the Coutts 17/18 season defining injury.

I think Peck will come in, certainly for Coventry game so the system doesn't have to change too much, give it a couple of games then tweet if necessary

play hamer as 10 and i fink we shift brooks into cm

We signed the best CM in the champ so it would make sense to play him at Centre Mid

But wilder shoe horns him out on the wing

Gus is that good he will do well on the wing but he is better a box to box Centre mid so the COV fans say anyway
