“That’s the difference between us and a top 6 team, they played bad and did what it took to win. They were crucial when they needed to be and our teams mentality was ******* awful as soon as we went ahead, panicking, stupid mistakes. We won’t be top 6 unless we have someone who can teach the players how to handle pressure.”

I love it when we are crucial 😁 The Cider must be getting to me!

I do get sick of the Premier League quality rubbish, it shows how little any of the pundits actually know about our team and our dealings in the summer.

Cheers Roygbiv great job on a late Tuesday night.

Apart from the odd one or two, not near las many sour grapes and salty views as I expected.
Blades are not exactly well known for holding a lead and folding late on!

I think I’m alone I’m not minding Earnshaw’s co-commentary.

However, it was absolutely bizarre - as though he’s never actually heard a match commentary before. It was more like a chat show where he recounted anecdotes about his injuries at great length, not stopping even when exciting things were happening in the penalty area. A strange experience!

Yesterday was the first time I have heard him commentate and it was definitely the worst thing I have heard. Didn’t really know what he wanted to say and so went round in circles and then didn’t have the vocabulary to end the sentence in a meaningful manner.
Their keeper bottled it, thinking he was going to get hit/challenged he took his eye off the ball and mistimed the punch, leading to the corner, leading to the goal. I would be very annoyed if I was. City fan

Surely they give Co comms some sort of training ? Earnshaw didnt draw breath. Just inane drivel non stop for the entire game. Hinchcliffe, Goodman and Hendrie are bad but this lad is another level.

It was a reverse of so many games last year. Despite being off it, at 60 odd minutes we bring on some of our best players .

They were shuffling square pegs into round holes at the same time and it eventually cost them

Got to agree with most of them. If I was a Bristol fan I'd walk out of there a bit pissed off but they didn't put the game to bed, we took the chances when needed. Not convincing on our side by any stretch of the imagination but we still ground the result out. Fair enough I suppose.
Bristol city fan unless you are happy they call us Sheffield?

Watched the first half with a Bristol commentary and all they were wittering on about was parachute payments and we must have a huge wage bill, Premier league players blah blah. The reality is we only have Prem players on loan young uns at that, nowt stopping Bristol getting a few on loan. The bulk of our team otherwise is our academy players five were on the pitch tonight, we started with a free transfer up front too.
Bristol city not Bristol unless you are happy we are called Sheffield?

Until we went 1-0 down we looked very average last night too many changes from Saturday .. but in the world of football karma I remember them beating us 2-1 late on ( Aiden Flint ) at The Lane in 2017 after we’d hit the woodwork 4 times & had Fleck sent off .

Anyy support walks out of a game pissed off if your winning in the 85th min. Where the game looked every bit of a 0-0

Yes we wasn't at our best attacking wise and the game wasn't all that as both teams was playing who blinks first, but they wasn't good at all either. We was poor and so was they. I'd say we dominated the ball more but that was more meaningless possession.

Cheers Roy, and I seem to agree mostly with what they said there, but 3 points is 3 points!

When Hamer went through to hit the post, I presumed he'd been flagged offside because Earnshaw was just casually talking about something insignificant. Sky have actually taken his chat out of the highlights package during that chance.

“Despite taking the lead we never looked like winning that game. They had Premier League experience all over and we didn’t match them. We have an inexperienced squad with little quality. We’re destined for mid table mediocrity”

This person saw the game exactly the same as I did.

We were well on top in the first half without making it count and when they came and had a real go in the second half, which as the home team they had to do, they never really laid a glove on us.

Penalty was soft, their guy deliberately ran in to Cooper ( as any forward would) as the ball veered away to his right. If he'd bent his run to get to the ball he wouldn't have been able to dive over Cooper. That said it was poor judgement from Cooper in the first place that gave him the opportunity to do that.

The penalty seemed to wake our lot out of their complacency and they came back and completely dominated the game from thereon in.

Just a shame we couldn't show that much energy early doors and put the game to bed by half time as we were clearly a notch above them all over the pitch.

Yes. I put it on mute after 15 mins then was turning sound on and off to avoid Earnshaws inane rambling. Why can't Sky simply instruct their co-commentators not to talk incessantly? It spoils the game. Did he think he was on the radio? We could see the game.
He certainly has a face for it......

Cheers Roy. I'm with them on Earnshaw

Was a strange one.

I felt like we were as poor and disjointed as we’ve been in ages in spells. Worse at times than both the Leeds and Boro games. It always felt like we were capable of going up a notch and getting something. I wasn’t sure we were going to take it up a gear and in fact them going ahead was probably the best thing to happen to us.

Without their penalty I think it ends 0-0

And also I was gutted when Moore went off, but I don’t think he scores the header either. It all just kind of aligned for us

Best comment for me was;
"Congratulations to Rob Earnshaw for the new World Record of most words verbally communicated in a 90 minute period whilst simultaneously saying absolutely nothing.”

If Sky are going to show so many matches we cannot expect them to always have good Co commentators especially on the red button.

Doesn't bother me in the slightest United have been the only team of any worth in Sheffield for years much like City are the only team of any worth in Bristol
Apart from they aren't. Bristol Rovers are my second team and aren't called Bristol either. It's pure arrogance saying they aren't worth bothering with.
Hard to believe it doesn't bother you in the slightest, especially as there is a football team called Sheffield FC who are also worth bothering with
for folks like my uncle. It's the double standards that pisses me off, many blades hate being called Sheffield and also call both Bristol Rovers and Bristol City 'Bristol'.
