Call it what you want, he was dropped because we wanted to play a back 5 as we feared Leeds.

Pathetic.

The lad has finally arrived and just come off a brace, played excellent, gets dropped for the next game as we were scared of the opposition.

Do you think Leeds will come to Bramall Lane and not play Gnonto?

If I was him I’d be fucking furious

This one is on Chris.

They couldn’t believe their luck 🍀

Tbh I could see the logic in not playing JRS, defensively not great and you wouldn't want to give too much freedom to their wing backs.

However,
1. Not playing Brooks instead left us with nothing
2. We gave them so much space and time out wide we may as well have played JRS.

Absolutely bang on.

I can't remember the last player to score 2 for us except o.g. v Luton last season.
That ought to teach JRS a lesson. Don't go scoring 2 when the aim is a 1 - 0 win. How are Soutter & Anel going to break the record for pass completions??

I don't care how good the opposition , you have to give their defence something to fear.
Our best two at doing this are JRS & Brooks.
So we have played one of them all season , but not tonight - why not.
Without either of them we have no player who can carry the ball or beat a man.
O'Hare & Hamer do not have those attributes.

Norrington-Davis shouldn’t have been in the starting 11 & JRS should have been.

Hopefully, the last we will see of the ‘back 5’
Why change a defence thats not concede for 6 weeks crazy
why drop a player who scored two and was at times unstoppable in the last game and has become a threat the more he’s played
wilder chucked that

100% agree . We had no ball carrier/ threat to keep Weeds in their own half . The lad deserved a chance . Got it wrong Chris

Doesn’t matter what formation we played according to Chris because our touch was bad

Sticking Campbell on really exemplified Wilder’s muddled thinking last night.

He lined up close to Moore in a crude looking 2, and all the signs said we were going to just go long. Which would have been a bit shit, but understandable in the circumstances. Welcome, even, given that we’d shown zero positive intent in any other way at that point.

It then took us about 20 minutes to hoof a proper long ball anywhere close to the pair of them.

Then he's talking crap - he got it so wrong - if i`m a Leeds fan / player / manager / i`m thinking WTF ...Gives them a motivational start .

Bemused by Chris ...he didn't just get it bad - he got it so bad, and it reverberated through the team .

Unbelievable incompetence

Dropping Sakyi is one thing, but can someone explain to me how Campbell has suddenly jumped Brewster in the pecking order?

Right after Brewster actually looked good, and after Campbell produced a sluggish nothing v Swansea?
There is no pecking order. Neither of them are a goal threat. You can put them in a bag and pull one out and get the same thing, which from a forward perspective is nothing.

We know how poor Brewster is, and Campbell looks weak and unfit.

I accept Brewster has done well in a withdrawn role in the last 2 games but that’s different.

The game last nite was like being transported back to the Prem.......manager fearing the outcome of the game so reverts to total defensive game plan which results in a customary defeat.

The score actually flattered us could easily have been 4 had Aaronson (sp) had had his shooting boots on near the end of the first half.

We could have played on until midnite and would still not have scored.

Wilder.......Nil Poi.

I am expecting the same shit show at Boro too.

JRS could still have played with the back five, he'd have been much better than O'Hare at trying to run off the shoulder of the last defender as he actually has pace.
o'hare is the weak link runs about a lot but his first touch is awful hes a much better player than hes showing us wrong position for me

We have to be careful here, he needs to be starting games now. His form is good & he scored in the last match. If we are not careful - Palace may recall him in January & either sell him or loan him out to another club……..maybe Leeds!!!!

I think the thought behind it was that Moore had been winning a lot of knock downs in the first half but didn't have anybody close enough to him to convert it into ball retainment.
Therefore, chuck Campbell on for the second balls.

It didn't work though.
Campbell doesn't seem to be the answer to any of our problems at the moment.
Given he's more of a wide forward, he should be behind Brewster, JRS and Brooks in any scenario from what he's shown.

Hold on, you say defensively JRS is not great and it would give too much freedom to their wide defensive players, one of which is (checks notes) Jayden Bogle, who 90% of the forum say can't defend either? Playing two wide players who can't defend ought to cancel out in terms of being scared of things going wrong

I don't think Bogle and Gnotto cancel out with Shackleton and JRS.
