If George Baldock had his say then it would be that his legacy should be something on the pitch where he continued to make a difference. Something where he could influence the match. A legacy of inspiration.
We are all aware of the Sheffield United Way. That needs to be re-titled 'The George Baldock Way'. Every player at the club - current and future, 8 year olds and expensive signings should all be exposed to the way George Baldock did things.
Clips of his attitude on the pitch, his will to win, his unbelievable relationship with the fans, his interviews all put together to show what we as a fan base expect from our players.
A George Baldock Award - 'The Starman' - every season for the player that has lived up to the levels set by the great man himself. As a fan base we know waht we are looking for - we've had 7 years to view the Master.
I'm not against the George Baldock Fan Zone but I personally think it would be sad that when the match starts & everyone is in the ground his true strengths are ignored and his legacy is an empty piece of land on the corner of Shoreham Street and Cherry Street.
Let him be on the pitch. That's where he belongs
