Peter Schmeichel wants the Sheffield United job.
Manchester United legend Schmeichel, who has done his coaching badges, is set to throw his hat into the ring to succeed David Weir.
Ex-Everton defender Weir got his marching orders after just four months at Bramall Lane.
The Blades currently sit bottom of League One, having won only once in the league this season and suffered a 3-2 loss at Coventry this weekend.
Former captain and under-21 coach Chris Morgan is in temporary charge.

Isn't one rookie manager enough for one season?

he wont get it.

JP has already the new man will be experienced.

"I can see that I've been linked with the vacant managers job at Sheffield United... this is not my doing, I have not applied for any jobs, but it's great to be associated with such a great football club." - https://twitter.com/Pschmeichel1

Just the other day I heard one commentator (I've forgotten who) describe a save as "Schmeichelesque". Looks like he's already entered the footballing folklore.
