Since the Takeover news broke a few months ago we have had this two list scenario presented by Abdullah's and his minions.

All summer the Ramble dude, SUFC way, Girona accountant have constantly pumped out the info that the suitors list is more lucrative than Abdullah's list and the transfers to date are done by the previous incumbent.

So all the signings to date that we are happy with are down to Abdullah, I think we all agree the new build has produced a strong 11.

The takeover has in the past week gone through, the Abdullah minions have said the new owners are now in charge, so why has Wilder's targets to boost the squad in this window been quashed? He wanted 2 to 3 to give depth, Cannon and Johnstone just 2 names that made Sky Sports saying we had these deals in place.

So what's changed new owners? I have a feeling they are binning Wilder and that's why they blocked his deadline day plans.

Despite what people might say, the new owners can't be involved in transfers until they have been officially given approval by the EFL. It's against the rules and Birmingham got a suspended 2 points for doing exactly this last season.

I'm not sure if people are spinning to protect The Prince or genuinely don't know what's happening but if it's found that the potential new owners have been involved in our transfers at all, we will be getting a points deduction.

The issue is though.....when you target a player....it's not like going to the shop and asking how much....then paying it.
There are other clubs desperate to match whatever we offer because they are desperate to sign him.

I've done a bit of checking other forums etc.

Seems that Stoke might have been attractive to Cannon because it's nearer his home
and he already knows a few players in the Stoke squad

and regards Johnstone he's already been at WBA last season and had a good/ enjoyable spell there, he knows the clubs and the players, so again an attractive move for him.

We would need to substantially outgun both Stoke and WBA to persuade those players.
It's like we were always favourites to get Callum O'Hare because we showed so much interest early and no doubt Hamer will have persuaded him.
O'Hare admitted that Hamer had been regularly texting him asking when he's joining us.

Jimmy the Rambler said it, Darren said it, are win Limbo? New owners, who the fuck is running the show?

I think we are in limbo, yeah. The new owners are not in charge of transfers despite what people say because they're not allowed to be. My guess is we thought we'd sell Anel or Souza and had deals ready to go if they left. They didn't so we had no money to do anything significant because The Prince, understandably, wasn't going to put any money in and the new owners can't.

Or maybe we didn't put the money up, sorry but your theory about him holding hands with a few Stoke dudes don't wash. He wanted to come to the Lane, Wilder wanted him to come to the Lane. The rug was pulled, why?

Fuckin knows a few lads at Stoke, Jeez fella.

If we are in Limbo how can any deal go through? Yet we sold Trusty. Who sanctioned that?

Limbo my arse, the new owners are in the building and will sack Wilder before the clocks go back. Why else would they scupper his targets?

Is there any actual evidence that the takeover has gone through?
What's happened this week (or not happened, to be more accurate) suggests Abdullah still has hold of the purse strings.

Yep, decent theory that.....it makes sense.
Wilder must be so angry.....we nearly have a very good side.....just a little more ambition and we'd easily be top 6 contenders.
Can only hope we stay in contention.....learn about our strengths and weaknesses.....then push the boat out with major signings in January25.
I suppose...at least we've not lost any of our good players....all our sales have been very good business losing our weaker players.
Although now.....when you look at our striker options....could really do with a Jebbison and Osula.

Because selling players doesn't involve anyone putting any money in. Even if the new owners were in the building, they couldn't be involved in making transfers in this window. I do agree that Wilder will likely go once they do come in though

If nobody is in charge Roy then who sanctions the sale? If players can be sold/loaned out then players can come in.

Wilder has been set up.

It will be Bettis I would think. Every player will have a price tag on them by the club. This will likely involve Wilder, Bettis and The Prince. Wilder consistently said nobody would leave unless someone hit the price we'd set for players.

I don't think nobody is in charge. The Prince is in charge. He still owns the club.

So many none facts there it's not even worthy of a blow by blow reply.

Well if Ramble and Girona Daz can be trusted the torch passed over last week.

Who knows? At least you had an easy day with the view from pal :)

The TT hung is weird needed a striker nothing we needed a replacement for trusty nothing a winger needed nothing

But we did sell Trusty. Which gave us £6M that nobody was expecting. More than enough to fund a deal for a decent Championship striker. Even if only a loan from a Premier League team.

Something clearly did change Wilder’s plans as he was talking about bringing more players in, using the loan system etc and then didn’t

I agree with you there. Can't get my head round selling Trusty and not using the money. That must have been a completely unexpected sale and should have been enough to get a loan in at least.

It feels like Wilder has been sabotaged

He'd never accept ending the window like this and it looks very far from any squad he'd choose to build

As a result he will be sacked by November. Sad

I don't think it's very far from a finished side, just needed one or two final pieces. That almost makes it more frustrating as I think we have most of it in place.

The players we've signed will still be good players whoever is in charge.

Been plenty on here calling for Wilders head after the QPR draw, and again after losing to the dingles in the week.

Personally I'm a bit meh about Wilder. Loved what he did the first time around, hated how he slunk out of the back door leaving us in the shit after believing his own publicity.

His reappointment made some difference (the away draw at Villa), but results didn't improve really and we were dreadful all season. If you want to talk about being set up, think Hecky.

If the new owners bin him, then so be it. The ball is in Wilders court to get us off to a flying start and make himself indispensible. I think we are a couple of players short, but if we don't get any injuries then this largely Wilders first choice of squad. A couple of reserves shouldn't make much difference. I haven't seen anyone on here not saying selling Trusty and shifting on Slimane wasn't good business.

The ball is firmly in CW's court. Let's see how good he really is.

Dosey bastard did 😂

The takeover hasn’t gone through. A date for completion of the transaction has been set, I imagine imminently, but it hasn’t completed.

Right hang on.

You have sold your house and exchanged contracts but don't complete for another week. Are you going to put your hand in your pocket and buy a shiny new bathroom for the new owners for when they move in?
No

You might also be nicking the bird table, digging out some plants you've always liked, and settling old scores with the neighbours though.

No, but you could loan a decent lawnmower and a pressure washer from a neighbour and leave them in the garage. 😉
