Nah, couldn't do it. Went for Smith who probably won't be popular due to his money grabbing decision to jump ship, but who I thought was a class act and superb finisher.

As true as that might be, it doesn't have an effect on whether he was the "best" player. I totally concur, he was class, which is why he was only around for 6 months or so...

Gillespie had 2 good years out of 4, which is better than anyone else on that list. He was also someone who looked at home in the Premier League, which is to his credit.

It's funny how much worse this bunch is as a group than the number 18s.

He was. He came back in around Feb 2005 and scored 2 v Crewe at home the following month, but those were his only goals that season.

Gillespie without a shadow of a doubt. Twat or not, he was a class act. Always liked him when he was young at Newcastle and thought it was a shame he lost his way a bit. He was quality for us. He can go in the bracket of Cowans, McCall etc in that he was a big name, in the twilight of his career, that delivered. He had a touch of class, good vision, passed well and was dangerous going forward. He lacked mobility somewha, but changed his game and made up for it. He was excellent in the promotion season and looked at home in the Prem. Shame it all went sour, but Keeef is easily the best Blades player on that list.

Great header. He was excellent in the air for us, and we regularly made use of him outjumping left backs.
