If Anel leaves then I revive my Jimmy Dunne suggestion. Clearly would be a solid signing. He keeps doing well at RB for QPR. We need no nonsense proper defenders like him if we want to draw a line under last season

As for a replacement, if we are selling I’d like us to Invest in two CBs with the money. I’d hope there will be some quality players on our list of possibles.

But still, we know he wants to go, we know he’s a bad egg to have in the camp when his pet lip is out so I hope we have made plans for it.

I suspect we intend to sell but are saying the right things at this point to get as much as possible. However there is likely a club lined up for him and he wants it, and they are sitting tight until the deadline day knowing we will take the offer in the end just to move him on.
Reckon he will go for £10m plus add ons.

I’ve not heard that from anyone around the club and I doubt Wilder would have him in the team if that was the case.
Any comments about his attitude have come from fans as far as I can see but I might well be wrong!

Egan would tick a lot of boxes. He's a leader, he's available, he knows the place, Wilder knows him. If he's not 100% fit right now it's not the end of the world as we have Souttar and Gilchrist. It would also mean we would likely have the money to get Cannon in permanently.

Was good again today. He keeps getting chances and could have scored two or three today.

You're right, he's not match fit right now but has reportedly been training with Burnley. We have Souttar and Gilchrist can also play RCB, so I'm not sure it's a big issue so long as he's over his injury and just needs to rebuild his fitness.

It may be.
Personally I think Wilder wants rid. His displays and attitude last season stunk the place out and we need a complete reset for me.
So while that’s his release clause, set at a price we’d have expected to have achieved with ease the season we went up, having seen his displays last season he’s kind of oussed in that valuation.

Serious question to anyone, having seen him play and you’re an Ipswich/Wolves/Southampton fan…would you be happy with your club chucking £17 big ones at Anel?

Have you ever known anyone be named publicly as a bad egg?
Do you think Wilder would do that, or even hint that given he’s considered a saleable asset?

The “what happens on the training ground/behind closed doors, stays there” saying is very true when you can’t afford to sully the name of someone you can’t afford to just let walk away for nowt/put on gardening leave….like Chelsea have with Sterling while paying him £200k a week or whatever it is.

His public displays of disgust while playing for the team last season spoke volumes, and his downing tools on repeated occasions on the pitch make it clear how he feels about being at the club. That will rub off in some way- therefore a bad egg.
