What a breath of fresh air

Good players brought in at sensible fees
Exp €7.69M £ 6.55M

A great bunch of youngsters being brought through

Good use of sales
Income €38.7M £32.97M

A trading balance
Balance €31.02M £26.42M

No stupid unrealistic transfer fees paid

That all adds up to give us proper football, with pace / excitement & optimism

Wilder & the Prince have salvaged last season’s disaster & replaced it with hope

We have to really manage player wage expectations now though - which I don't mind btw, unfortunately that is the reality of the game we are in if we want to be successful. We've set the bar - other players will expect to reach it too.

Don't care, Wilder aht, Prince aaaht, sell Anel and Hamer for peanuts while still paying Garbage for sitting on his arse (his natural position).

I take my hat off to Wilder ,he has transformed the team from a no hoper to promotion hopefuls spending peanuts while doing so .

Football P&Ls - actually any P&L - don’t follow the logic a normal person would expect, add FFP on top, and we’d probably all be a bit shocked at the state of our finances still.

Having said that, the general health of our financials must have substantially improved this summer, whilst also refreshing/improving the squad and significantly lowering its average age. 18 players out (including loans), and many of them will have been on prem/top champ wages. We will still be paying Hamer, O’Hare, Moore, Vini etc top wages but that’s ok. You just don’t want to be paying that for players who don’t add anything and you can’t shift. I can only really think of Davis, Slimane and Grbic who I’d want to give away and get off the payroll.

Got to balance it with player value too though. Arblaster and Brooks could be worth 50m+ if the progression keeps accelerating at the pace it is, they will want a good wage or they will be leaving on a free.
