They don't just negotiate contracts. Some players use their agents to sort out their homes, bills, cars etc. Some of them probably need agents them to find their own arses to wipe 🤣
Got to give it to agents, they've somehow managed to get themselves 6 figure annual wages by being an au pair for adults 🤣

If Sakyi trained with the club today then I’m not sure he should have? If the deal isn’t completed then I don’t think he is allowed to train with us?
Think it’s ok. We often here X player is training with Y club even though they’re not their player. In fact wasnt Cambell training with a club before joining us just to get fit. And pre-pre season games we had someone trying with us.

Sometime in yesteryear.

Bassett "Billy, we need you upfront lad, back up to Deano"
Billy Whitehurst "On my way gaffer, straight after this bare knuckle feight"
Bassett "Your agent is playing silly buggers, stopping the transfer"
Billy Whitehurst "Leave it to me, won't be a problem"
BW Agent "Where am I?"
Northern General Porter "On Huntsman lad"

I smell, an agent smelling a big fee from the cash Leeds are getting shortly. No James Rowe, Georginio Rutter off to Brighton for 40 million, Leeds desperate but cash rich. Coincidence that there’s a glitch from the agent side? Suspicious? Moi?

not a cat in hell’s chance that Palace will sell him to anyone in this transfer window.! They see him as a future first team star for them ….. Yes the agent is probably after an extra pound of flesh ….but we will probably end up just paying it. Think the player & Palace want him to come here…..but as we know agents are so powerful now.

I reckon there are good agents and bad agents in football.

A good agent whilst wanting to make money has their clients career/best interests at heart at all times.
A bad agent is in it just to make as much money as possible.

Lets see how this pans out. If he goes to Leeds you cannot say its a bad transfer. However is it wise to be leaving Palace permanently if that is the case?

We've all seen players who have ended up chasing the money and it hasn't quite worked.

For instance Jordan Slew. Had he stayed with us, I reckon he may well have developed better than his move to Blackburn. And an extra few years with us may have propelled him up further the food chain.
Equally DCL we didn't massively rate and then he's gone on to be a success at Everton (Albeit injuries).

A bit of a story. I won't name names but work with someone who used to run a chauffeur company. He used to pick up and drop off players on match days. Told me that one time he had to pick up a player short notice as they had a flat tyre. He was early and offered to change their tyre as a favour, no payment. The player called their agent to ask if it was OK and the agent said no. The player was in their late 20's. Just an example of how much influence these agents potentially have on players

I have a similar story about a former England international and a light bulb...

Wasn’t Campbell a free agent though B56?
Sakyi is a Palace player and if the deal isn’t completed which it isn’t, I’m not sure he is allowed to train at our club?

Maybe Palace have to give permission?

Where's the actual source saying another club swooped for him?

I see Danny Hall saying paperwork not completed correctly, but that's very different from another club coming in for him

Or are people adding 2 + 2 and getting 9...?

Just shite twitter accounts that people believe for some reason. Danny Hall pretty much said it just needs a signature. Nixon said it’s due to an agent fee but I reckon he’s heard “held up due to agent” and instantly thought it’s money related. Player and agent getting some right stick when no one really knows what’s happening.

Agreed mate 👍

You’d think between now and midday we’d be able to find a pen!
Think closest place is Rymans on the Moor. Not paying that much. Can't even borrow one off the next DPD driver that turns up anymore now they have the little tablet things.

Top tier cringe account ‘Nowdenblades’

‘There’s another offer on the table by another club’

Every other recognised journalist that is genuinely in the know states this isn’t the case, it’s his agent & paperwork that’s held it up.

I nearly tipped over the edge when I saw ‘aye 4’ when we signed Cooper.

Let’s be rate whatever the hold up, he won’t be playing tomorrow.

Why when Wilder has already announced he’s playing?

Is it because you’re being negative again? You always predict doom and gloom.

Bet you”re finding it tough that we’ve made so many great signings.

He’s not announced anything.

This deal is not done. It should have been done, hence wilders comments. But unfortunately his agent decided to be a cunt.

I love how people have created hypothetical, fictional stories about what’s happening with this transfer and they’ve become FACT 😂
Without any shred of evidence, the boy is now ‘greedy’ and ‘doesn’t want to play for us- fuck him off’. Bizarre

To be fair he did say the deal was advanced for him and cooper to be involved at the weekend.

Good point.

Agents are parasites.
Let's be honest, football is toxic. Beneath the visible tip of the iceberg, historically many players were treated like shit. Agents appeared in part to redress that balance. You can argue that in many cases the power has shifted too far but in a multi billion pound, short career industry where you could lose your ability to earn in a split second and in which clubs have demonstrated pretty ruthless policies in the past, you can't blame players for employing representatives to protect their interests. Some will be more honest and scrupulous than others, like any walk of life.

I’ve checked all the latest news and even on the Crystal Palace site it’s still saying they expect the issue to be sorted before lunchtime today.

I suppose a big indicator is if he’s training at Shirecliffe again today? If he’s there then obviously both the player and agent are still keen to join us.
