I can just see them now, viewing themselves as Rocky Balboa and us as the nasty, niggly Clubber Laing.

Except in this version, Mr T comes back and hands Rocky his ass on a plate one further time.

“Sucker” 🤣

Well lets face it the league cup is not the biggest game for us this year . Thats why we played all the young boys in the team but must say they were far to good for the welshies .They totally dominated play ,some in the team making their first start for the club made them look really poor .Looking at the face of their manager certainly did not think it was a nowt game ,he looked really pissed off . They reminded us that they made 10 changes to the team but omitted to mention we made 11 changes to our team . a TEAM MADE UP OF MAINLY YOUNG BOYS . They looked really good and I feel after that performance we now have a bigger squad than we thought . I for one would not be worried seeing some of them on our team sheet .Just hope the club adjust some of their contracts to protect the clubs assets before the big guns come knocking after watching our lads last night they could be a lot of interest .

I went browsing the wasteland of Reddit to supplement this one with views from a certain type of fan. Hope you don't mind, Roy.

"As an American I'm still struggling to understand the point of these. I know the FA Cup can bring home some money for the club but besides that is there really a point?"

"We’re not a champions league club yet, so this is alright"

"What’s the difference between this and the FA?

Like do teams care about these tournaments or do most just focus on league play?"

"Please don't chastise me Welsh and English folk but wtf is the point of subbing in starters at the end of the match?? Should play this to win so Sheffield doesn't think they're hot shit"

"How can they use the goal line technology, but not the VAR for the last goal?"

"I also assume because it's a first friggin round of the FA Cup so whatever lol"

"Oh shit I thought it was FA Cup! Well there you go, haha"

"FYI, for those who don't know. Auston Trusty has played off and on for the USMNT."

"My dumb American brain thought SU had a knight called "Sir Ricky" for maybe 10 seconds when announcers were saying his name."

"At the end of 90 if it's a draw, extra time? PK's? A game at the other side's home?"

"I missed the part about Wrexham having a bunch of changes too."

Proper set of fans.
"Sir Ricky"! Superb! 🤣🤣🤣

I usually have a tendency to stick up for underdogs in all sorts of situations, but I make an exception for this lot. I suspect that a lot of their "fans" rarely leave their chair in front of "Sky Main Event" or whatever, and sticking up for a little Welsh club (which is what Wrexham is, and will probably remain) gives them a little exciting project away from armchair supporting City/Manure/Scousers etc.
I'm hopeful that their 2000 or so real fans have a more realistic view of life, and like real fans everywhere, will continue to stick with their little local club when it all goes tits up!!

I’m all for an underdog story usually, but after all the bollocks of the FA cup tie last year they can fuck off.

They’ve really got a nerve calling Souttar out for his looks, where was Mullin the Diving Ardvaark last night?

“Ultimately unimportant, we’ll play them in the league next year”

No they won't! They'll get promoted and we'll get relegated

Got a lesson from the second string of a club that is orders of magnitude bigger than they will ever be. Assume the few sensible ones realise this, and are being either humble or quiet. As for the rest...stick that up your Disney you silly twats.

He sold his mobile company for over a billion last year, and has many fingers in pies bringing in more money 💰.

Should try and get him to jump ship lol.
I think he owned 25% of the company. Still a decent wedge but there were other shareholders.

I fully expect Wrectum to finish top 10 this year. Even if they don't go up in the next few seasons, I expect them to eventually reach the Premier League. Wrexham's owners will have big money contacts who will be more than happy to chuck money at the 'fairytale journey to the promised land'

Wrexham will make it to the Prem, but the current owners don't have the finacial clout themselves - they will get investment though, I'm sure of that.
Hacked account or still drunk from the night before?

As of 2023 accounts there loss has increased to £5.1 mill from £2.9 mill the year before, the model from League 2 was unsustainable. Each year the club will need more and more investment both in the squad and in infrastructure and unless the Hollywood boys are willing to risk property or investment portfolios as security it needs to be liquidity in the form of cash. In 2023 they already owe £8million to the "Hollywood LLC" realistically its a bit of a pipe dream that unless you onboard a government or very rich Saudi (even Al Fayed got bored at Fulham, a similar sized club at take over) they can keep chucking cash but they will give up eventually when they get bored. We have seen it time and time with the PL, how many millions is it worth spunking or is it worth taking it on the chin for a season cash in hand.

Shove their leeks right up Deadpools arse!

they have a bloody cheek ,have yet to see a good looking sheep and if the stories are correct how come all of a sudden they are concerned about looks

This is such a shame because I went through a period of spending a lot of time in Wrexham and developed a soft spot for the team. The last few years though they've become a proper set of delusional dicks.

I forgot we were even playing tonight.
Not sure League 1 Wrexham "lived rent free" in our heads leading up to this at all. In fact, only about 10k Blades bothered to show up.

Our reserves looked great. Made easy work of them.
It was our reserves v there's by all accounts as they made ten changes too I believe. A bit of a nothing match but we beat them comfortably in the end and any of their fans who say otherwise are misguided.

I don't expect Wrexham to be as strong as they were last season, I would t get surprised if they're around 5 - 10th which is still decent but I don't think they'll get top two.

Thanks Roy.

I am shocked. Well I might be if I could raise enough of a fuck about them or their opinions. Which I can't.

No way they will get to the prem

Their model is not sustainable at championship level or above and the owners would have to write off huge losses of at least ten million each a season
No way they will do that or persuade anyone else to come in and share that burden no matter how successful the Disney series is

Not so sure mate. They have a lot of interest in the states where we all know that more and more Americans are wanting a 'project'

Can see them doing a Luton and going all the way. Not yet, but think they will get there by 2030 - there, you made me commit now 🤣

They are both very astute business men who will look to. Offload as soon as losses get too high which will be next season
All the interest is superficial, once Reynolds has gobe and his stardust what is the attraction to an investor

A third tier Welsh back Water club with capacity crowds of 13000

Thats already fallen all the way down the pyramid once

I do hope so Frank 🙏

Weird mix of some giving credit and just bitter, will say they travelled well enough, cheers Roy

The ones giving credit have got their feet on the ground and the ones bitter cos they've got their head up Deadpools arse.

Thanks Roy.

Some total spice heads on there! You just got hard pumped by our 23s. But then if the highlight of your life until 2021 was a night out in Rhyl… UTB.
