I haven't a clue whether what you say about Rooney is true or not. However you references Lampard in the same post.
Lampard, Rooney and Rio Ferdinand were pretty terrible pundits, but i don't think that is always their fault. You knew during the Euro's that they would stick to a narrative, Neville made a complete idiot of himself as well.

Rio and Neville both made this big thing about how good Trent Alexander was at passing the ball and that should justify his inclusion in Southgates midfield, in an attempt to get behind the manager they ended up backing a completely flawed plan which most fans knew wouldn't work.

Lampard and Rooney were clearly given topics to talk about and ended up looking, as Grizzly blade says, a bit dense. Lampard is quite articulate, knows the game. Rooney is not articulate, but knows the game, however, neither are able to explain simple things well and really see where the game is changing and then make the counter changes in realtime. They can't even explain things well at halftime and full time, so its fairly easy to see why they aren't able to manage, they are perhaps decent coaches. They're not managers.

My backs packed in at 40. I have to sit down every 10 minutes.

Might have to throw up a 'Bad Back Wankerz' post, just so we can virtually massage each other.
I could hardly walk at full time in Preston on Friday, but never mind, I'm sure all those arseholes that think it's ok to stand for 90 mins had a great day out.

Usually I don't mind Neville, when he's not making pointless excuses for how poor Man U have played, like when Liverpool annihilated them at Anfield.

I do like Roy Keane though, doesn't mince his words and won't hold back with his criticism.

Does anyone else think that this means Grbic has a move away lined up?
Probably not we’ve seemed to want 3 keepers around the club in recent years hopefully it allows Faxon the chance to go out on loan

If it's 2m there will be a big sell on clause %
If it really is 2m then I reckon they will have taken a lower fee now in exchange for a big (30-40%?) sell on. If so, I don’t mind that too much because:
1) shows how much faith they have that he’ll make it to the very top and will remain fit. And Plymouth, despite the crazy Rooney appointment, are a very well run club
2) they raised him from a pup and deserve to benefit if he does make it big
3) incentivises us to keep him for as long as possible and reject low-ball bids in the future.

If he's as good as the hype, then we need to be getting back to the Prem PDQ if we are to keep a hold of him.

I think it's really unlikely we've agreed a huge sell-on fee. We had the upper-hand in these negotiations and would probably much rather have paid an extra £1m or so to get get rid of (or substantially lower) the sell-on.
A lot of the attraction to taking a risk on Cooper is his age and the potential upside in selling him on if he turns out to be decent.

I would think he's either getting a tasty signing on fee and / or pretty decent wages (£25k p/wk) due to the lower fee.

Strikes me as a cracking bit of business if his knees are OK.

He might be correct, but how on earth would a Plymouth ITK know when we are going to announce a signing? Feels like conjecture.

Anyway, if we've done a deal at £2m that's fantastic business.
Fairly low-risk signing in monetary term, with a lot of potential upside.

Fingers crossed we do a very robust medical and everything is OK. Would expect personal terms are already agreed through intermediaries and form a part of his drive to come here.
Apparently we offered £4m plus they had to take Grbic but they chose to take the £2m

I suspect it's got more to do with a new found willingness to pay them some wages

And agents fees

Agree, looks like a change of transfer policy.

Instead of paying decent transfer fees, months back we’ve drawn up a list of the best loans and best free transfers.

Then we’ve been really aggressive blowing our rivals out of the water with better wages and contractual obligations.

Some of our fans probably think we’ve spent little but suspect we’ll have one of the biggest salary budgets in the league.
