Outgoing? Hamer

I think that £25m will be hoovered up by the vast running costs of the club. Although it looks like they only bought him for £1.3m so it’s a fair old profit (sell on clause dependent).
Leeds will really go for it this season. They need to get back up and all 3 teams that came down are no great shakes so they will see this year as a massive opportunity.

No one on this forum can believe Hamer going for £25m to Leeds is better business that Soula going to Newcastle for £15m

The new owners have stopped the later (allegedly)

So why the hell would they allow Hamer to go?

End of, close the post down now!!

They don't have a choice with Hamer
Yep, we have no choice if someone wants to meet his clause and he wants to go.

However, assuming the clause is minimum £20m, then no Championship team has ever paid that much and the highest was Burnley this window (making the Mike Tresor loan permanent from last season, maybe an obligation to buy, but essentially a Premier League signing of £16m) and Wolves when they went a bit crazy splashing the cash on Ruben Neves for £16m and a few other teams buying players for around the £15m mark, so while Hamer might very well go on deadline day, I doubt it will be to Leeds (altho they have a lot of cash coming in so who knows)

They do have a lot of cash coming in, but very little of it is available to spend.

I might be wrong, but my take from watching Blades ramble tonight is........Hamer signs new contract soon which would include a much higher release clause. Making it very expensive for any team to buy him. I imagine he gets a wage increase along with that. Any one else get the same impression?

Didn't realise people watched that...

I don't think Hamer will leave. But could Wolves come in with that much money on hand to spend?

They owe approx £170m in transfer fees of which approx £70m is due this summer so you're spot on in that.

No way they're spending £20m on Hamer.

Is there rumours that Hamer is signing a new contract? Just seen it here and there but that would be great!

There's rumours flying about all over the place, I'll believe it when it happens

Just a guess from Jimmy Ramble comments on his YouTube I think Gus’ release clause could be expiring soon.

If someone does come in and activates the release clause there’s only one player we should be going for as a replacement on the left wing and that’s Jack Clarke.

Rather keeper Hamer of course but Clarke linking up with O’Hare would be also be lethal

In the system we're playing Clarke would probably be more useful than Hamer (even though Hamer is a more rounded player).

Not sure we would get Clarke though.

If it has an expiration date then I'd assume it would be at the end of this transfer window. Would be nonsensical to set it any earlier.
I suppose the sense behind would be "Yes you can leave for x, but not right at the end of the window when we will struggle to find a replacement".

I think Gus will drop back next to Blaster as and when Souza departs.

Clarke would be expensive to get I would've thought.
