1st half very good; 2nd half collapsed.

Wolverhampton shit hole.

King looks quality but unfit. Baxter sharp.

Signs of improvement but can we unilaterally rely on one up front, all game every game? Surely this myopia isn't sustainable.

Long way back to Jorvik, dear me.

Sounded like Baxter was getting the ball in the first half but hardly heard him mentioned in the second.Did they figure us out and marked him out of the game?

It also sounded like Baxters corners were awful. It also sounded that we brought every fucking player back for a corner at 1-0 down with ten minutes left.

Get him out, now ffs.

We did pretty well first half, forced some saves but didn't really create clear cut chances. Wolves played like an away team, they soaked up the pressure, waited for us to tire and hit us on the break. They knew we'd give them a chance after we faltered and they took it.

Very quick summary.

Really, really good for first 45 - closest we've come to matching Notts Co match levels. Wolves fans were booing their team as we were so far superior to them.

Combination of our standards dropping a bit and Kevin Doyle's introduction started to turn game. Crucial opening goal very fortunate as described elsewhere.

Full backs got forward more. Hall showed good defensive discipline a couple of times to fill in / track back.

Brandy very good but tired badly. Baxter not very good and tired very badly. Surprised McGinn didn't get on to freshen things up a bit. Cuvelier looked better than he has.

Still too many unnecessary passes which slow things down / take us backwards. Doyle particularly guilty of this.

King clear MOTM for me, much of his good work in 2nd half wasted due to Baxter/Brandy being too tired to get close to him.

Overall, encouraging but ultimately disappointing...

Disagree that we were so far superior to them. I felt we matched them, and there was always a feeling that they could go up a gear if they wanted, which they did in the 2nd half.

Cuvelier did well, Doyle is a coward and a shithouse. Obviously cannot agree about the cunt being MOTM. He is 33 years old and fucking past it.

we could do with a bit of viking power at the moment Rodders ...... :(

Nay lad , the captain of our team is beyond reproach , he leads from the front , consantly encouraging his team-mates to greater heights , his forward thinking and probing leads to numerous chances and stand out passes , he always asks that no man should do what he would'nt do , cut the grass , make the tea , I'm proud to say , nay honoured to say a Dub like mr Doyle is our captain . ;) If he's reading this your a wagon , and should be gated , he'll know what I mean .

A very well constructed and honest assessment of the game

Not so well constructed. Good use of the C word mind you. Clearly a lot of people thought Marlon King (yes, that's his name) was worthy of M.O.M. - http://s24su.com/forum/index.php?prs/game/55/

Dont agree with that at all. Wolves knew they could go up a gear.

That is irrelevant. Doesn't matter what gear they were in first half. Sheffield United dominated proceedings in the first half. That is fact.

Just to hit home the point to axel smeets...

RS were all saying we dominated the first half.

The BBC has said it - http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/24184977

Sky said it (albeit the same report near enough) - http://www1.skysports.com/football/live/match/288325

The star said it - http://www.thestar.co.uk/sport/sheffield-united/match-report-wolves-2-sheffield-united-0-1-6098207

Even wolves.co.uk said it - http://www.wolves.co.uk/fixtures-results/match-report/index.aspx?matchid=3631011

Pity they don't make matches 45 minutes long instead of 90+ mins - we would have a load of points now if that was the case!

Do we get any points for that?

No? Thought not.

Did you go to the match matt?

Ok. This won't do much for me i know... No i didn't.

But,

For all of those people to state how well we played in the first half. Keith Edwards was talking about it too, it was a shock to read your initial comment that you didn't agree with Cooper. His post basically backed up the reports I had read over the weekend.

Your comment read to me like you failed to see any form of positive because we lost. We dominated the first half - that is a fact.

I was surprised and very pleased with what sounded a solid first half performance on Saturday, the commentator and Edwards were both saying the same. Kevin McDonald has called it a smash n grab performance.

They had a lucky break for the first and the 2nd was unstoppable (don't mind conceding goals like that thunderbolt).

But your comment was to call Michael Doyle & Marlon King. Despite the positives.

We had more shots, ok only one more and had 49% possession against a team that will pretty much most definately get promoted automatically but let's slag Doyle & King (most people's man of the match).

No, but facts are facts apparantley. I respect your differing opinion matt, but please don't tell me I am wrong when I've seen things with my own mince pies and try to present them as facts on the basis of journos match reports.

We did play better than them first half, but as I and some of my mates said, Wolves always had far more potential to actually grab a goal. Griffiths seems to be making it his business to turn tight matches into wins for Wolves and he did it again.

I'm not sure I go along with this 'lucky break' idea either, Cuvelier got himself horribly caught out and let Sako, the other Wolves player most likely, to go free. The disallowed goal was very similar in some ways, another half clearance from Wolves was badly misjudged by Doyle and Wolves hit us on the counter, fortunately this time Doyle had wandered offside.

You're clearly missing the point. It is a fact that we had more possession and created more in the first half. I'm not denying they had other gears to move into or they had more class. I am asking how you can disagree with Coopers assessment of the first half when he & clearly half a dozen journo's saw a different game to you.

Coz I paid me bloody money to go and watch it. If cooper and a half a dozen journalists want to pay for me to go to away matches I will agree with whatever they tell me I've watched.

I agree with everything you say in that summary. Especially King, who I thought was superb!
