His numbers were pretty damn good for a truly awful team last season. There's no way a club doesn't meet his release fee before the end of the month. Only chance we have of keeping him is if he signs a new contract with a vastly inflated release fee....and he'd be fecking mad to sign it the state we're in.

Maybe mate, but for all his faults I think the Prince does actually make sure we get paid well when we sell players, and that would include setting substantial release clauses.

We can argue about where the money goes when we do get it of course, but he has driven some hard bargains from what I have seen. Certainly when you compare him to McCabe.
