Why do people keep banging on about hamer being sold? There's been no interest in him and he didn't exactly set the prem alight last season. A good first half of season may spark interest in January when clubs become a bit more desperate.

Because with the Prince being skint we can't carry players that clubs will pay 20m+ for in the championship, if he has a bad season or a bad injury he'll be running down his contract and leaving for free.

Don't agree with that in the slightest....comfortably top 10 with what we have now, maybe more if we keep hold of Hamer, Anel, (and we get the original back instead of his brother Anal who played last season) even Souza i feel could be much improved at this level although i think he will go.

I do agree however that we need 4 or 5 more though, starting with a GK who hasn't got hands made of playdoh. Then a decent centre half or two, (Worral and Gilchrist please), plus Hoever from Wolves and another striker we are starting to take shape with good cover for most positions.

If the Pigs think they can get top 6 then we will piss the league.....

I genuinely don't understand how the Pigs are predicting a top 6 finish? I can't see that their squad is any stronger than last season and apart from the keeper, (who is half decent to be fair) they have signed kids who have been released, journeymen and unknown lower league foreigners.

know one or two of us on here who take a peak on porktalk have taken some stick but i like to it amuses me their unbelievable with their unfounded optimism after in the last 2 seasons being handed things on a plate for em by peterbro and useless teams at the bottom of the championship yes they think their going to be top 6 all based on wonderboy sausagerohl i also tuned in to a few of their games last season and they were terrible theyve no chance of top 6 even with the 2nd rate recruits theyve brought in i expect us to finish comfortably in front of the grunts this season utb ftp

To be fair you could both be correct.

My view is that we have probably 8 players who are promotion standard, sounds good doesn't it? but then the rest of the squad are either good players who always tend to be injured, poor players or very promising Academy players who are likely to be inconsistent.

So it's a real mixed bag, plenty of grounds for optimism but plenty of grounds for pessimism.

A lot will depend on injuries, get a good goalie and the 1st 11 will look very decent but the overall squad still looks weak.
Also we don't know how players like Brewster and RND will play or will they be injured again?
We don't know if any of the young Academy players do an Arblaster and make a claim for the 1st team.

Still think we need 4 or 5 players who are 1st team standard to think about promotion.
However I'm confident we still have some really good players....due to arrive in the next week or so.

So as long as we avoid terrible injuries....then think we'll be pushing for the play-offs.
If we have plenty of injuries then we'll be mid table.

Yep I've had a fair bit on them to go down at good odds. My worry is that there's plenty of other shite teams who will be down the bottom so they could stay up but at a readily available 9/1 I'm willing to take that risk
