Wilder did this with Brooks. All worked out in the end. Think some blades have forgotten how good Wilder had us playing football. Let him build.

If Newcastle are stupid enough to offer 10 million for someone who is League One level, we should snap their hands off.
 
He’s got the highest potential ceiling price in the squad imo. That includes Hamer and Blaster.

He’s a big, strong lad for his age. Absolutely rapid. He’s got decent feet. He’s proven to be wayyy too good at u23 level and has performed well against lower league opponents in pre season.

He’s still very very raw but with the right coaching and work ethic he could be incredible.

I was hoping this would be his breakthrough. He spent last season getting knocked about by the likes of VVD and Diaz on next to fuck all service in an unforgiving league. This season we should have a lot more of the ball and a load more chances. A string of games with a few goals and he could really kick on.

People totally wrote off DCL and Osula looks a better player than him at the same stage in his career and barring injuries DCL would have moved for a big fee by now.
 
Be daft to sell for that amount of money.

£10m is absolute peanuts these days for a lad with that sort of potential.

And you can bet your bottom dollar if we sell for for that only half would be reinvested in the side. Anel or Souza should be the ones to be sold to fund squad strengthening.

Look on our academy with envy from your inflatable tent.
 
We need him though this season. Who are we to buy at what price to act as back up?

Not packed out with strikers and if injuries hit, he will be in.

If he plays to his his potential, his value rockets.

No brainer to keep for me with the contract he has.
 

£10 million for a striker who’s never scored a league goal for us….. and only scored 2 for Derby …. So that is 2 goals in circa 70 league games!! Nearly as prolific as Brewster.

Seriously, if that offer is on the table I’d cash in & use the money for other important signings we urgently need. Osula may come good in 2 or 3 years time but unfortunately we need more experience this season.
 
If we were linked with a striker from another club, with the exact same career and statistics that Osula has, for 10m quid, people would be crying and kicking up a right stink about wasting money etc etc but because he's come through our academy, he's one of Europe's hottest prospects.

10m quid is bonkers money for unrealised potential and considering the position we are in, there is absolutely no way we should be turning it down.

We need strikers as it is!

I dont like selling players when we already have a huge rebuild.. Anel and Souza aside we need to add players not sell ones.

Nice cheap (in comparison to some) fairly long contract, yes he’s still learning but unless he gets a serious injury that fee is only going to go up.

We are under no pressure to sell him so if they are serious and it becomes a money thing we match his wages offered and add another 2 years on. Extra earned through performance, so with a goal he earns even more etc. there’s the incentive to work even harder.

But under no circs do we sell unless it’s absolute crazy money by even premier league standards, Strikers are the most expensive asset to buy, especially academy grown in the UK. So tell em to go away unless they are serious, and I wouldn’t even look below £40m.

That’s not to say I think he’s that good, but we should have learned from the likes of DCL and Walker.

But all of that is irrelevant if the player wants the move...

10m + a good sell on fee is a good price imo.
 
But if we have no free cash available & cannot sell Anel, Souza, what other option do we have.? Wilder was in the same situation with Calvert-Lewin when he started as Manager in 2016. Chris is having ‘wheel & deal’ again right now.

(Forget about the takeover - we have run out of time for that for now - season starts a week on Friday)
 
10m will get us a decent striker at this level and a good loan.

What nonsense.

Window doesn't shut for another month and a bit. There won't be a single Championship club that will be playing the same squad in a month and a bit as they do on the 9th/10th August. Us included.
 
Well some said that last season ….. and that did not go well! We wasted first 4 matches of the season. No excuse to do it again. We need players in asap.
 
Just had a thought. Imagine Osula vs the 14/15 Nigel Clough team. Omg.
 

Sell him for 10M and a 10% sell on clause, use the rest to buy some top players so we should, I don’t see how we wouldn’t piss the league so I wouldn’t.
