Wouldn’t mind a loan signing place or even bid for permanent transfer due to his availability.

He got 9 goal contributions from RB last season for stoke, more goal contributions than any other stoke player. Looks to me like a younger version of Bogle with a touch of baldock if not better statistically. His agent is apparently trying to find him a new club because he’s down the pecking order at wolves. I’d have thought he would be on our radar, seems a shoe in of a good signing.

Very good highlight reel too….. Fucking Do WANT!

The outstanding, obvious choice at RB. If we can get him permanently we should

I'd be happy for us to make him our one big spend, and maybe loan a CB if we must. We have enough loan slots left to help facilitate a big purchase like this, hopefully without relying on further sales

Massive opportunity missed if we don’t just enquire.

Be a great signing shame we couldn't keep Bogle because him and Burrows bombing down the wings would have had the opposition defence on strings.

Loan with a view would make sense given he’ll have one year on his deal come next summer.

But but but hat about Gilcrist, thought he was our target for right back unless we are looking at him as a RCB.

I can’t imagine they’ll be looking at Gilchrist as a right back other than perhaps an ability to cover it if needs must.

He might have even said he'll only come as a center back.

The only people who said we were looking to sign him as a right back were people on here, and the basis for that was that he isn’t as tall and heavy as they want a centre back to be..
Yeah, good point.
As for height, he's taller than Robbo.
The same height as Jags Hal pointed out.

As I said at the time, we’re crying out for BOTH a mobile, pacey centre-half who won’t get turned and left for dead by quick forwards (as much as I loved Egan, he couldn’t do this but I think Gilchrist could) AND a rough and ready Centre Half with experience who will be vocal and martial the back line and be capable of clearing out ball and man from corners (Worrall would be perfect)

So if we play a 4 at the back you'd replace Robbo and Anel?
I don't think the whole left foot/right foot position matters as much in a 4, but as good as Anel is at this level we won't want or need him to push up or overlap as much.
I'd be fine with two "stoppers" at the back IF the left and righbacks are pacey and can defend. Worrall and Souttar would be great if we got a Baldock type right back and Burrows/McCallum can do what RND can.

I like Anel but I don’t think his future lies at the club and he will be sold later in the window. Robbo, again he has character but he’s also always got an error in him and a lot of the times those errors lead to goals so I would not be adverse to replacing them both if we could get worrall and Gilchrist.

If we want to upgrade at LCB, McKenna is the obvious choice and still hasnt gone anywhere. Would make even more sense if we signed Worrall too

I looked at stats for the best right backs in the league last season and Hoever was a name that came up so would definitely be happy with him. I'd also love to see Gilchrist come in as well based on what I've heard about him (altho don't know too much about him directly).

If we're going 4 at the back, then Robbo and Anel are question marks for me (and I'll include Trusty in that), not because I don't rate them, but because I've hardly seen them play in a back 4 (not even that much as the central one in a back 3 - they're either LCB or RCB). No idea if they will excel as plain CBs. If Gilchrist or Worrall comes in as one of the CBs and we sign a RB (Hoever or someone else), we can try out Robbo, Anel or even Trusty for the other spot so it gives us a few options for the other CB position. We might even sign 2 brand new CBs - maybe both Gilchrist and Worrall - for even more options at the back (then we'd also have Gilchrist and Anel as potential cover for RB)

well if the latest reports that we havent got 3m for cooper are true worrall wont be coming in either so gilchrist and souttar on loan seem the most likely way we will go but robbo and trusty in a back 4 worries me theyve both got mistakes in them

Hope he doesn't suck and we leave the competition in the dust.

I think we are still working on 2 lists.
If Souza is sold,, for example, then it might open up list A.
I still think we'll be selling 3 more players before end August, so some of these incomings might drag on too.
Gilchrist and a keeper are a must next week though.
