Yeah that's right they all take championship salaries when PL salaries are on offer 👍

Ask Jebbo if you don't believe me and he's not had what could have been a career ending injury
A goalkeeper is very different to any other position on the field. You need the bloke(s) infront of you to fuck up or get injured before you get a chance.

Let's not even leave Palace for an example. Do you think Henderson is on as much as he was at Man United?

Not really taken much notice since rumour new owners want Grbic. That can’t be true after tonight and chezzy game.
So, who’s in the running?
Cooper - heard £3m mentioned
Patterson - £20m probables go for £8 with add ins to £10 s’ton
Rodak - free agent or 1 yr ext with Fulham, rumoured Hull bound last I heard
Davies while we wait on a PL loanee?

Whoever, need to sort it quick given Grbics two woeful performances

Pretty sure we'll have a lot of agents touting alot of keepers at us , something will be in the pipeline I'm sure.
The cooper thing is strange, highly rated , not too expensive but maybe the injury doubts are the reason PL clubs aren't risking it , Patterson looks pricey on the other hand .
Clubs are probably waiting for available replacements before releasing keepers , needs a few movers to start the merry go round .

He's on more.

Yes I do, do you think he gave up a long term contract at Man U for one at Palace on less money? If so you have no idea how agents and footballers work

He was pretty vocal about the fact he wanted to go and play.

He's certainly not on more money at Palace than he was at United. According to the Sun he was on £120k, according to MEN he was on £110k, the truth will likely be in the middle and he's not on that at Palace.

Not every footballer, especially keeper, is happy to go and catch splinters in their arse for 4 years. Some actually have a bit of ambition.

I didn't say he's on more money, you said he's on less and I will bet you as much as you like that he isn't.

Caveat being if ManU r making up rhe difference to get the fee for him amd him off their wage bill.

Whichever his overall compensation for being at Palace will not be less than it was at Man U

Davies will start the season in goal with Grbic on the bench.
Unfortunately I suspect you may be correct. Somebody will not be holding up their hands to an expensive mistake. (And I don’t mean Wilder)

How do you know this? I don't think he is.
Friend knows him from his time here.

He got a weighting increase. How we laughed at not being able to manage in London on his existing wage.

We're getting desperate now! Hugo Lloris is a free agent, could he do a job for a year?!

If he attracts some French defenders who see the space for the wingers to work through, then fine

David De Gea as well. Been without a club for a year now, maybe he'd drop down to the Championship for some game time ;)

El Accounto, saying it is a position we are looking at. Cooper is only one of the options we are in contact with.

Probably end up with Danny Ward from Leicester on loan on 30th August at 10pm if no takeover money comes through. Will be Davies at No 1 until then. May also loan out Grbic to some lower league team in Spain by then also.
Ward is on 50k a week at Leicester- no way we’d take him unless they’re heavily subsidising his wages. At least I hope not!!

I'd be happy with any of the 3 target's we're heavily rumoured with.

Rushworth, Cooper and Patterson are all huge, huge, massive, gargantuan upgrades on what we have and sky high potential to boot.

Tbh they can't be any worse, so any new gk is an upgrade.

Stick one of these in the net and it would be a gargantuan upgrade

Not hearing on good authority that George Long is coming back

Posted this a few times, might as well post again with Rushworth included!

KeeperSaves per gamexGA vs GA (goals prevented)Crosses stopped
Johansson4 (1st)2.1 (9th)7.8% (5th)
Cooper3.3 (7th)3.2 (5th)11% (2nd)
Patterson2.6 (25th)3.6 (4th)6.9% (9th)
Rushworth3.1 (10th)5.5 (2nd)5.9 (17th)
League Average2.8-0.86.1%

Preventing 5.5 goals over the season is pretty phenomenal from Rushworth considering the average is to let in about 1 more goal than expected. He's around average for stopping crosses. To put Cooper's crossing stats into context, the keeper with the third highest stop rate only stopped 8.5%, then a few others on 7.8%.

If anyone's interested, their heights are:
Cooper - 185cm (6'1")
Patterson - 189cm (6'2")
Rushworth - 188cm (6'2")

Think I'd be very happy with either Cooper or Rushworth, tho I'd be disappointed if these were available and we spend daft money on Patterson (not to say he's not a good keeper, just seems like a waste considering what Cooper and Rushworth would cost for equally as good keepers)

I don’t think Cooper is our target?

I would think Rushworth is the more realistic one.

Still don’t know why we didn’t try to get Johansson?
From the stats I found above, Cooper and Rushworth seem to be all-round better keepers than Johansson. I think people get a bit blind sided by saves made, when in the Premier League last season Wes top of the table for that and even Ivo I think was in the top 5 which tells you all you need to know about that stat. Johannson is obviously a good keeper, but I think we'd prefer to sign Cooper or Rushworth over Johansson
