Not really, it's always been the case that you do need to wait till the end of the window for the best players, unless you're a significant pull as a club or willing to put an offer down that blows everyone else out the water. Given the size of signing on fee mentioned, and the comments in the press it sounds like we may have done exactly the latter. Clearly PL sides aren't sniffing so we're going to be one of the best positioned clubs, and no one is looking to match the deal we've put on the table.

I meant that I’m surprised we as a club have stumped up the cash right now with the ownership issue. I presumed bigger deals like this (which sounds like it’s a hefty signing on fee for the lad) would be done when the takeover was completed and we’ve had a cash injection

Same, I didn’t think we had a chance with O’Hare. The team is slowly starting to take shape now. I still think a keeper should be a top priority and hoping we can get the lad from Plymouth.
