For those that are less sure of Moore. He started 14 times last season for Ipswich and scored 7 goals, so a one in two ratio. He's big, he's strong, he can finish, he's good in the air and he'll link play. Hell also provide an outlet for the defence.

In our budget he's probably the best we could get, even considering the takeover. He's played over 40 games for Wales and he's always impressed me when I've seen him at that level.

We all love football on the ground but realistically at times, especially at the back, you need to go long. How many times v Swansea did their "total football" lead to goals after we pressed and forced them into mistakes because Russell Martin refused to go long. I think he'll be a terrific signing and comes across as an intelligent guy too. He's also won promotion twice out of the championship.
His finishing has been poor recently hence his lack of use at Bournemouth.
As you say what he did at Ipswich seems as I expected he could turn around.
What you missed out was he is quick and can run with the ball.
I wanted him this time last year.
In every aspect totally outclasses McDonkey.
Great loan signing with 4 top youngsters rather than all 5.
No chance we will sign under current regime.
Seems to be an age influence not judgement on player longevity.

Those saying Moore is poor with his feet haven't watched him enough. He'll surprise you. At least for a target man, he's good in that department
Scored some important goals to keep Bournemouth in premier league in 22/23 season under O'Neil. Helped Ipswich get promotion over the line last season.

He's still got it and when he was linked with us last summer I saw Blades fans wanting him, can't understand why people would turn their noses up at us signing him when they are saying we need a striker of his calibre in the squad.

hes just not a premier league player but a very good championship target man/striker long shot i know but if we could get brewster fit and firing they could form a very good front 2 get brooksy floating in behind em and we could be in business

I still rate Mcburnie, id like him to stay but his injury record worries me if he does stay.

If McBurnie stays in the Championship, and we get Moore..
Kieffer scores 3 or 4 more goals than Oli, whoever he goes to.

If we are relying on Brooks we won't be challenging for Promotion.
Yet to see anything then the odd glimpse from him.
Still young and he could come good but for me if we are serious about Promotion next season he hasn't shown enough to be a starter.

It surprised me watching a Wales game how mobile he was. Was chasing everything down. He’s a really physical presence.

Lester and Knill have worked with him so know exactly what he’s like. If they are giving the go ahead then the rate him too.

not saying we would be relying on him but think your being very harsh on the lad hes still a very good attacking midfielder and definetly good enough to make a big impact for us in the championship

Don't think Brooks will be first choice but a valuable squad player with time to progress.

Moore with Osula or Brewster up top with Hamer and Blaster buzzing around in behind and some pace down the wide areas will do for me

Would take him on loan for a year, we'd need to upgrade our players if we went up again, as proven last year, so loan for me

With our options of Osula / Brewster is there space for Mcburnie and Moore?

One of our big failures last season was that if/when McBurnie came off we didn't have a like-for-like replacement. We therefore had to either change the way we were playing or get someone to try and do what McB was doing, which never worked. There were countless games where substitutions killed our momentum.

I think there's plenty of room for Moore and McBurnie. Competition for places all over the shop is the ideal scenario.

Hey Tom.

I just read your post and said "ober" in my head, really made me laugh. Thank you.

I think with us signing wingers we have a lot more manoeuvrability. We could also sign BBD if we are loaded and easy could change to a front 2.

I hate to break it to you but the one thing we are not is 'loaded'

And no matter who buys us, if indeed anyone does, I can guarantee you we still won't be loaded. It's the Blades way.

Just seen us linked to Matt Ritchie so I would agree with you we aren’t loaded.

And had to play him when half fit.

The stats look good.
The only thing with stats is its hard to compare McBurnie and Moore on last season.
One was in the Premier League and one was in the championship.
One was in a team struggling and one was in a succesful team.

And yet the stats seem to say they had much the same output. In context, it makes it pretty fucking easy to compare the two.

I guess thats the way we look at things differently.

McBurnie got his stats against Man City, Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea etc, while Moore got his against Middlesbrough, Plymouth, Hull and QPR etc

In my opinion, the only comparable stat is the appearances (which looks to favour Moore), as he was only at Ipswich half a season so looked to be available more.
