Bert is of the opinion that we should sell him, he's not shown enough for Bert to be convinced that he will improve enough.
The jury is out, but in flashes he has had some good moments. I would keep him and hope that he gets the quality coaching that might bring him on to be a decent player.

Is it possible to get a sell on agreement as part of a compensation deal?
If it goes to tribunal without agreement being reached there is scope to award a sell on clause in addition to the calculated compensation amount and any other add ons.

Based on not signing a contract with us he can leave. Since his return from Burton we haven't seen him. Like Osula he is very raw and may never develop enough to be really effective.
The leagues are littered with players from big clubs that just can't cut it at higher levels.

Although I have idea how they can sign anyone (even on a free) in their current financial predicament….. I hope he goes. I’ve seen nothing from at Championship or Premier League level to tell me he will turn into another Calvert Lewis.

Did you see anything from DCL to make you think he would turn into DCL?

We’ve spent a season getting schooled by big athletic mobile players. It’s foolish to be letting go a player with those raw materials notwithstanding the pitiful compensation we’d get.

If I was a Prem team I’d 100% take a punt on DJ. It’s conceivable you could coach him up and develop him into a player who could contribute to a squad at that level.

Fair point & no would be the honest answer. But I also don’t think we can afford the risk of a contract for Jebbison who may not deliver. However, I guess that also depends on exactly what kind of budget we have.

So bored of this now. Either sign or fuck off. Not seen much to suggest he is going to be anything other than average. I don’t buy all this Dortmund / Juventus nonsense.
I get that he is still young and has been hampered by injury but seen nothing at Champ level or above to prove he is anywhere near as good as some seem to think.
I sincerely hope that if he stays, that he proves me wrong but I maintain that he and Osula are the football equivalent of the emperor’s new clothes.

Weve offered the lad a deal... Either take it or go... Stop pissing about.

FWIW I reckon he will leave elsewere.

I think its worse for him if he leaves as he could have been a first team player for us and developed higher but we need to plan for not having him around... (which shouldnt be too hard as hes been injured for 18 months.)

Sadly this will be his agent pushing him to move. Hope for his sake he does not regret this in a couple of years time

I wouldn’t be overly upset if he left but he is definitely an asset we should try and keep hold of. We’ve been crap with his development. Pulling him back from loan spells to sit on a bench.

If he can’t get game time here then he is going to be a long way down the pecking order at Everton. I doubt he’ll ever play a game there and will get released before dropping down to L1 with some key development years behind him.

His best bet is to sign a contract here, force a loan to L1, have a good season (10-15 goals). Hope to get into or around our 11 the season after. He just needs game time. Him sitting on a bench is killing his growth. He will be a less attractive loan option for L1 level with a higher wage slapped on him unless Everton subsidise it.

He has some good qualities but lots to finesse in his game. He needs to prove himself and craft his game.

Tbf to the lad he isn’t the only one, Egan and McBurnie have been talking for ages as well

It’s business, this might be the lads best contract he ever gets if it doesn’t work out so right he should hold and make sure

It's pretty clear to me all the ones offered a new contract aren't coming back.if they wanted, and we wanted them enough, it would be sorted already.

He was recalled from his loan 2 and a half seasons ago because we had an injury crisis.
“Sitting on a bench is killing his growth”. He then had a year and a half to get in the team and, unfortunately, wasn’t fit enough to sit on the bench for almost a full season.

I didn’t even realise he was injured for a season, if I did I must’ve erased this from my memory as i thought we should’ve sent him out on loan. My bad.

He's got all the physical attributes to become a decent prem striker, but needs schooling on positional sense, ball striking & decision making. Don't think he'll get that at the blades.

He either needs to be guaranteed to play every week at champ / L1 level to learn on the job, like an apprenticeship, making mistakes along the way. Risk is that he doesn't get to experience the "higher level" skills & football intelligence.

Or go to a top prem club and learn from the experts, like at university. Risk is that he gets lazy and sits in their reserves for a few years drawing his £50k per week, but not playing.

He's at a junction and needs to make up his mind.

If the mooted takeover becomes reality, and a new management team is appointed with proven coaches who improve young players, then perhaps Jebbison will shine.
If one of Jebbison and Osula has to go, then for me it would be Osula.

Don't McBurnie's and Egan's contracts run out at the end of June?
I wouldn't have thought anything would be signed, or announced until 1st July.

His brother says Dj wants to leave, he said this at the start of the season and he confirms that is still the case.

So. You don't think Jack Lester is proven trainer for academy players?
