Thank you Leon Clarke

Probably one of the most underrated players we've had in the last ten years, definitely the most underrated signing made by CW.

Shame we can't take 10 years off of him and bring him back to lead the line next season.

Seen people posting about some of his goals when this was first posted, his volley against Port Vale when we won 3-0 was class.

He even made an appearance for us in the premier league, came of the bench against Liverpool I think.

Best thing Clarke could have done at Swindon was chin that cunt Di Canio, shame neither him or Foderingham did.

Massively didn't get signing him at the time. Contributed a bit though 2nd half of L1 season.

But boy didn't he half kick on 1st season in champ.

Says alot that yet again most of his highlights on his social media are of his time here. Absolutely none from his earlier sheff career or even Wolves.

We may have had a crap season but this club can be special and unique.
Take Norwood, Basham and Baldock. All leaving, all will say being at this club is the highlight of their careers and the connection to the club and fans alongside the achievements is why. They'll never forget it.

So many ex players end up settling here post playing. We might not feel like it at the minute because we have deffo lost our mojo or bit of passion for the club and football but give it us back and we are a bit of a force.

I maintain that he's the best CF I've seen for the Blades this century.
Obviously not in terms of overall output or consistency, but that 20 game spell was better than anything I'd seen before or since. Complete CF.
Strong, quick, led the line, could score with both feet, with his head, brought others into play. Superb.
Shame he couldn't keep it going.

That first season back in the championship he was unplayable. Up there with Michael Brown in 02/03 as one of the best individual performances I’ve seen over a season. Promotion to the prem probably cost him a couple more seasons with us banging them in

Liked Leon did great job for us in that era , had traits a good striker should have & his hold up play was spot on . Dishing a few of these out recently but again .. GlTTL ⚔️

I was delighted when he signed, he'd done really well for a good five years before we signed him, pretty much as soon as he left Wednesday! He could shoot with both feet, he could head and he had a decent touch. He could volley pretty well too!

He'll be remembered well by our fans, much better than Wednesday will, ha ha!

Leon, Leon, Leon!

Leon was one of those players I didn’t expect much from who delivered a whole load more than I ever imagined.
Those 2 goals at the Stadio del Rustico and his celebrations after them still have me grinning from ear to ear.
What a great career and pleased that I had the chance to witness some of it first hand.

He was a “journeyman” striker who suddenly became unstoppable. He was as someone else mentioned one of the best strikers we’ve ever had as regardless of being an ex-pig will be remembered by me as a great blade

It says a lot that out of the 23 clubs he’s played for he only used footage from us and Coventry (and a squabble with Di Canio at Swindon lol). For the 4-2 at the sty alone he was one of the best signings of the Wilder era for sure. Wish him all the best.

Shame he couldn't keep it going.

After we gave him a new contract, he was probably too busy thinking how to spend all the extra cash.

I think he only scored one cup goal after that.

Shows how players can be seen as world beaters one week and disappear the next.

Superb though, while he was on fire.

Ryan Flynn says hello.
