Absolutely anywhere. Whether we have the ability to source them I'd highly doubt.

A midfielder who got 11 goals and 10 assists last season and has followed it up with 5 goals and 8 assists to date at a higher level is worth keeping around.

Keep him. Then get the right partner for him and Arblaster and you have a potential promotion midfield. The third doesn’t even have to be a superstar, just someone dependable and available and who knows the level. Browne, O’Brien all looking like the sort who can complete a positive three. Then you look for Brooks, Davies, Peck, Slimane to add support where needed, unless we also sign another. Plus you’ll also have Osborn filling in where needed.
 
Agree champs trouble is he will want to stay in prem as at his age he took his chance and showed he was good enough.
We have a price on his head if it's met he's off can't blame him for that.He owes us nothing ! Since most footballers are mercenaries today !,the nature of the game means he will go,best of luck to him as he was one of only a few to enhance his standing as a player.

Arblaster is a different case altogether,selling him at this stage would be stupid he's a blade and wants to play for us. If he progresses as we all hope he will be worth a lot more than the possible 10 million we would get now.
Great to see one of our own progress to the top playing for us not sold at this stage for a pittance, Kyle Walker is the best example! Thanks for that

Ah yes, “when a Big Club comes knocking”…yet we don’t seem to manage to be that Big Club that often!
 
i hope hamer stays in the last couple of games the link up play between him and arblaster has been really promising and think hamers recent good performances have coincided with arblaster coming in to the team but every player has their price and if a club comes in with an offer of 20m plus he will be sold imo

Hamer's recent good performances have coincided with putting himself in the shop window.

Yep Champers, I'm 100% with you. Ironically, he was the one signing that fell outside our transfer strategy and has been our biggest success. Says it all.

One point that I think we've discussed before - I personally think we need 2 midfielders. One to start, and another backup given your list includes Davies (crock), Peck (0 league starts), and Slimane (who I think will be moved on).

Other than that, agreed. Hopefully we can convince Hamer to stick around for one year, and we'll have the cashflow to withstand that with Anel and Souza moving on. I know it's not 'luck' with Blaster, but I'd say he's currently meeting the higher end of our expectations of him.

bIt harsh that baltic but of course you could be correct just liked the centre midfield link up hamer and arblaster produced against forest if we could keep both of these lads next season they would be as good a midfield 2 as anything in the championship would also like us to bring in a big physical defensive midfielder if we do manage to hang on to them both

A good and valid point. I'm not criticising Hamer by the way. He has proved this season that even in a terrible team he can perform at this level and earning a move to another Premier League club is good motivation for him. I'd much rather that, than certain players who have given up and downed tools.

If Hamer and Arblaster are still with us next season. I will be a very, very happy man.
 
I think his improved performances have largely coincided with Wilder coming in and stopping playing him out of position.

As much as I liked Hecky, god only knows what he was thinking playing him as a winger.

Using our current model of either letting them run their contract down and going for nothing or panic selling them in their final year if they’re any good we have a rough idea of when and for how much!
 
Put it this way, Berge, who had no Prem experience went for 12m and had only a year left on his contract.

I only see Hamer going if we fail to recoup funds with the sale of Anel and Souza. If we do fail in selling them and it gets squeaky window time, he'll go for 15m with add-ons to make it closer to 20m.

If Anel and Souza go, I can't see him being sold for less than 30m. Whether or not Leicester, Ipswich or the play-off winner will pay that remains to be seen, but the lads in contract till 2027 and in my opinion I don't think we'll sell cheap.

The biggest threat, in my opinion, would he Palace if they lose Olise, Eze or both. They could make a move for Hamer and Arblaster. I'd rather neither move on, but if they do, I think it will be for fair cheddar.

Genuinely think Arblaster will still be here what’s he played 8/9 games I just can’t see clubs parting with 20 odd million off the back less than 10 games clubs are scraping around for money and most are near ffp also if he was to go I know money talks but to go and sit on a bench week in week out an play 10/15 mins here an there lad needs to knuckle down with us and have a full season at championship level and if he has good season then fair do he may move on next year I just think moving now makes zero sense for buying club us as selling club and the player him self with us he’d get proper football and play every week
 
Wonder if Leeds will come in for him if they go up? There were numerous reports linking him there when we signed them so they still might have an interest

They have better players all across the midfield, either in the squad now or on loan, already

Was a daft post due to the error of forgetting Sander played for us in the Prem. But, my point was, if we still got 15m for Sander with his contract expiring, I cannot see Hamer going for that same price with him being in contract till 2027 and has proved himself useful in the Premier League. I only see him going for 15m if we fail to move on Anel and Souza, desperately leaving us with cash to find.

Agreed. He's now a £20m+ man
 
If United are in any way shape or form genuinely interim mounting a challenge next season, then they simply have to keep hold of this lad (and make solid signings to compliment him and OA). Only if a really ridiculous financial offer comes in or he has his head turned, should we consider selling. One thing's for certain, we need to be serious about squad building for next season if we want to retain our better players. If we have used the money this season to pay off the debts and settle the finances then now is the time to be (by our standards anyway) a tad ambitious. Its now a defining moment in our recent history. Over to you Prince A.

Regardless of the rest of the team, if United can end the summer window still with Arblaster and Hamer as the midfield, then we have a chance.
