Ok,

So McCall & Robinson are "out of the running" for whatever reason.

Of the other top ten bookies favourites. IF you had to choose right here right now who would it be?

For me it's Jackett and if we can't get him take a punt on Graham Arnold. Love Morgan but i'm not sure he's manager material yet

I don't think Robinson is out of the running. There has been no such announcement from him or anyone else.

I vote Robinson, please.

1. Jackett
2. Southgate
3. Morgan and hodges

Anyone else better come out of left field rather than what is in the list

Honestly, this isn't meant to be a smartarse reply, but if your table was:

1. Jackett

2. Southgate

3. Morgan and Hodges

4. Danny Wilson

...and asked for nominations, I'd bet that No.4 would romp it

Me too Matt:

1) Jackett
2) Southgate
3) Graham Arnold

But we all know it's gonna be..............................................

........................................................................right?????

UTB!

No one but Morgan wants the fecking job with the constraints imposed.
Why the feck have this circus if no one is going to accept the shitty end of a worn out flimsy stick?
Might as well flush the whole fecking lot of them down the shitter and have done with it.

Fuck

If you want Wilson over jackets record that I wouldn't exactly call it smart arsed. Lets see how long it takes for Danny to get back into management hey? Never

Doh! I didn't read the first post of who DO you want and picked Morgan because I thought it was going to be who don't you want. Anyway of voting again?

Good lord.....none of the above. I will abstain from voting because that is one sorry list. Out of that lot you might as well give Morgan a go permanently.

If the club had anything about them they would go out and pay compensation for a manager doing well in a current job. All of those are out of work or no longer at a big club for a reason.

Surely not Jackett. Got zero personality. Prefer watching paint dry than listening to him. Southgate not much better. Shocking list of managers. Warnock / Morgan?

Saunders would be worth a go IMO, did well with donny, not really to blame for wolves going down although he should've done better. Best option out of the above for me

Total bollocks

How long was he out of work before McCabe gave him a job?

How long did it take him to get MK Dons, Swindon or Bristol City out of the division? NEVER

Why when when about 15 jobs were going in the Championship last season did nobody come in for Danny Wilson?

Yeh, total bollocks

He's such a dour man with zero charisma. Not for me thanks.

Id like Jackett but apparently he's "odds on" for the Wolves job. At this point I'd take Saunders. Just not Morgan...

I voted Jackett but not really impressed with any on the list. It's getting a bit like a turkey voting for Christmas.

Southgate for me. Played at a high level, seems like a bright chap and would probably know a few hidden gems from his Youth Dev role for FA. Deserves another shot at management.

Of the sorry bunch it appears that Southgate is the only choice you can remotely describe as anything progressive.
Everything else is tarnished with failure, Blades or otherwise, or inexperienced to the point of irresponsible or a retrograde step.
So, Southgate fits a particular bill:
IF he can persuade some decent youngsters (as IOM Blade states) to come on loan and get some proper games
IF he is allowed to do that within the current wage structure.
IF he is prepared to put up with all the shit that will come his way and he gets time to sort it.
IF he gets someone with balls into the midfield.
IF he gets some pace out wide to create opportunities for the strikers.

I am not convinced that our academy lads are good enough to fill the team with.
Two or three at a push every year but not the half a dozen or more it would need to shake up this lot.

Having said that - anyone remember what happened with the last ex 'Boro boss we had?

Steve Davis is the favourite according to BBC Sport. I'd like to hope Jackett is the guy we get.

There's no-one on that list I can bring myself to vote for. I wasn't turning cartwheels over McCall or Robinson but at least I'd feel a glimmer of hope. Southgate introduced a lot of young players at Middlesbrough but ended up getting relegated. I fear that will be the eventual end result of giving half that list the job.Although if we employed Wally Downes they might be doing me a favour because I can't see myself going to watch us if he got the job.

I'd wait and see who gets the Wolves job out of Coyle or Davis then try to get the other one, as I don't think there's much to choose between them.
