Morgan interview

If he isn't made manager I wonder how many other clubs will be lining up for him.A great captain but needs to polish his managerial skills in a lower league first.

I wouldn't read too much into what's said immediately after a match. To put a positive spin (sort of) onto it we are stuck with most of this shower of shite, so ridiculing them doesn't help much. I'm sure he's aware of their limitations - but either way he doesn't (shouldn't :() have the experience to earn the job - only a winning streak would have helped that.

I ha e to apologise. I thought we would at least get honesty from Chris. The whole interview was full of shit and he is obviously unable to separate himself from being manager and one of the boys. I wanted to smash the radio. We need a clean slate

Morgan's interview was like the performance. A disgrace. He had a real opportunity to say the performances haven't been good enough and to apologise to the fans.

"No one will ever question the lads effort" cough, cough

Well with the exception of the 18,000 silly bastards who turn up week in week out Chris, you're spot on. What an absolute load of Bollocks, I assume he had his fingers crossed?

So that's Morgan out of the running..........I hope !

Having been the player type that he was people are going to be wandering if he can put right what's been missing this season, and make us play good football.

As the performances haven't convinced anyone, Morgan's only chance would be to say the exact right things in interviews. But I think large parts of that was quite the opposite of what fans wanted to hear.

Morgan was a great warrior and leader on the field. He has showed himself to be tactically lacking and unable to extricate himself from the previous regime. Ultimately, the decision to appoint him on a short term basis has failed, and I think the board ought to start afresh.

I haven't exactly heard that the performances and tactics of the junior teams at the Lane was much to write home about under Morgan. We need a hungry and positive manager who has a plan around the sort of players we need at the club. I don't know who the best candidates are, but what I do know is that Morgan is part of the problem.

May not seem pragmatic tonight, but a change is required throughout the club as we face another season in this pathetic division. Next year will be much harder!! UTB

Morgan can fuck right off after his shameful comments. He seems more bothered about saying what McCabe wants to hear than anything else. If you are happy with today's performance Morgan - and most of the other performances this season - you must be fkin mad. "Excellent experienced professionals" "Shown total commitment" "Don't underestimate what we have achieved". Bollocks.

Incredible. Morgan will be noshing Mccabe off in the shitter at this rate. Hard man turned smurfette.

3 year contract really does beckon.

What a complete and utter wanker. I hope I never see him anywhere neat the Lane. Has obviously no clue what the fans feel and just goes along the lines of "next season we'll give it our all". Well giving it your all this season would have been a start Morgs. Get a decent manager in and get rid of all the dead wood. For SUFC to be below Yeovil and Brentford is abysmal, even though it is deserved.

That interview summed up everything about United at the moment. An acceptance of mediocrity runs right through the club from the owner, the manager, players and probably even some of the fans. It needs someone to come in and turn the whole ethos of the club on its head and start again. Sadly under Mcabe this will never happen and that interview has probably increased Morgans chances of becoming the permanent manager.

Apart from McDonald,i don't think you can question their effort. A lack of quality and pace (actual pace and speed of thinking) are the issues

Morgans Record is W2 D2 L3 F5 A8
Extropolated over a 46 game season this would give us W13 D13 L20 F33 A 52 pts 52 and finish just above the relegation zone.

Garbage about the effort - most of them are bottlers and spend most of the time hiding. Agree about the lack of quality and pace though

I'm just glad I've got my club back.

The quote that got me was, "... the lads didn't get what they deserved".

Yes they did Chris, FUCK ALL!

I feel bad that he was put in this horrible situation, but Morgan should get nowhere near the managers office again.

Anyone watch Brentford V Swindon?

What a game, entertaining and two teams TRYING. Contrast this with SUFC's efforts. They were trying. Very.

Worst team in the playoffs. Bar none. We should have given our place to Orient or Walsall. Can you do that? Refuse to take part - would there be any sanctions? Those teams would have made more of a fist of it.

"It needs someone to come in and turn the whole ethos of the club on its head and start again."

Yeah couldn't agree more, they need someone to come in like a dose of salts, ala what Bassett did for us in the late 80s. We're crying out for some energy and zest in that team, the Lane needs to be a fortress again and we'll not get it with the current lot.

I do agree Toronto and have said that about other potential candidates over the years. The trouble is, we are now in theleague that should have provided the eqipment to do the polishing; and there aren't too many below our level these days.

So Morgan thinks we have had a good season.. WTF is this guy for real?? If he thinks this season has been acceptable and was to get the job full time he'll turn us into even more of a catastrophic failure, than we already are. It would literally make me cringe is he was appointed. Kenny Jackett anyone?

That comment is spot on. Yes we dont have a right to be above these teams but with what we have we should have at least got second.

Feel harsh that Morgan has been put into this situation, although as a consenting adult he could have said no but in life opportunities sometimes present themselves when you least expect it and you have to give it a go. He doesn't have the ability, experience or know-how to be a first team manager just now, so giving him just 3 games to sort out our problems was a difficult ask. All the best managers get there through simply doing the job for long periods of time. Not over 3 games. If he took over in the summer, it would be a more mature approach, but KM was desperate and wanted a last-gasp run to see us through. It failed and now one decent hard-working player for United is fast turning to a zero.

As for his comments, I'm not going to defend him too much, but, a good man-manager will always do his best to protect his or her staff. When he became manager, he crossed that threshold and became responsible for them. All he's really said is a bunch of cliches that are used after every defeated club every game of the season, it just hurts more after the manner and importance of the defeat.
